IRIS MARA
chapter fiveI drag my luggage down the street towards the boys' house, where a rv was parked out front.
Brandon was the first to see me as all of them were loading their stuff up. He sits on the curb, typing on his phone. He looks up at me, squinting against the sun casting down on him.
"Packed enough stuff, Mara?" He remarks, eyeing my two bags.
"It's 7am, Brandon." I say back with a stone-cold expression on my face. "Do not associate with me this early in the morning."
I stroll past him and into the RV.
It isn't cozy enough to feel like a home, the lack of space spoke for that. Everything was so tightly compacted together, meaning I'd never get to turn a corner without bumping into at least one prettymuch boy.
But besides that, it wasn't all too bad.
I claim a bunk that was the closest to the back and as far away from the front of the bus as possible. I decide to go for a top bunk this time around.
"I'm going to laugh so hard if we hit a sharp turn and you fall out." Brandon says as he comes up behind me.
He plops down onto the bunk directly below me, letting out a satisfied sigh. "I suppose it's only right if we become bunk buddies."
I decide to disregard his comments and settle down onto a sofa, testing it out. It was leather, much like one that you would find in a waiting room. It too, wasn't bad.
I hear a series of footsteps climbing up the RV steps, a chorus of familiar voices accompanying them. It was Austin Porter and Edwin Honoret, deciding to make their first appearance of the morning.
They were going on and on, ranting and bickering back and forth about who has the better solo in one of their songs.
That all came to a sudden stop when Edwin, who happenes to be my favorite prettymuch boy, sees me, kicked back on the couch.
"Iris!" He shouted before dropping his bag to come over and embrace me in a tight hug.
"Where have you been?" He asks as we pulls away. His hands are placed firmly on my waist as he looks down at me in adornment.
I give him a small smile. "I've just been busy but I've defintely missed you a lot, Ed."
"You bet your sweet ass that I've missed you a hell of lot too." Edwin remarks, giving me a wide grin before releasing me. "This tour is going to be the best one yet, surely. Especially with you here and all."
He collects his bags he had dropped moments before, looking up at me as he did so. "You ever been to New York?"
"No, only here, New Jersey, and I've went on vacation in Florida." I reply as I follow him to the back of the rv.
He tosses his bags onto the top bunk that was directly across from mine before he turns to face me.
"Ah, I can't wait to show you around then."
He smiles warmly.
"Alright, well I actually have to go help Zion's scrawny ass load up. I'll be back in a minute, little Mara." He assures me before turning around.
Once he disappears down the stairs, Brandon, who had been watching that entire thing unfold, scoffs. "He can call you little Mara but when I do it, it's a problem?"
I look over at him. "He's nice to me." I simply say.
He sits up from his lying postion on the bed, propping himself up with his elbows. "I am nice too, thank you very much."
"Debatable." I respond with a shrug.
I climb up onto my bunk. "I'm taking a power nap real quick and if we aren't on the road by the time I wake up, I'm going to be pissed."
"Sweet dreams to you then." He says, laughing afterwards."Try not to dream about me too much."
