IRIS MARA/ CONTINUED
"If I just so happened to kiss you right now, would you kiss back?"Nothing in the world could have possibly prepared me for this moment. Nor could anything have hidden the shocked expression etched across my face.
After opening and closing my mouth for several moments as I attempted to regain my thoughts, I finally manage to utter my first word.
"What?"
Of course it wasn't entirely the greatest first word but surely it was something.
Brandon shook his head as he pursed his lips together.
Even through my dazed and confused state, and his growing exasperation the boy persisted.
"What I'm asking, Iris, is if I pulled you closer, right now, and pressed my lips against yours, would you mind?"
I stared blankly at him as I gathered my thoughts.
For a slight moment, I allowed my eyes to wander down to his lips before slowly making their way back up to meet his eyes.
I cleared my throat. "I-uh don't see why that would be a problem."
And that was all the boy needed to hear from me. He wasted no time in the world and immediately captured my lips with his own.
With his swift and slightly unexpected actions my back collided with the wall behind me once more.
His hands slid around my waist, drawing me even closer and adding even more depth to the kiss. Mine found their way up to the nape of his neck, tugging at his roots.
A rapturous feeling passes through me as our lips move together in a slow, fervent way. It felt just right to have his lips against mine, moving in such a sensual manner.
Of course as they all say, all good things must come to an end and in this scenario that saying does happen to apply.
The sound of a bunch of wild boys hurtling down the hallways happened to be the cause of the sudden and unfortunate detachment.
Brandon and I smooth out our shirts and fix our hair in attempt to make this encounter look as casual as physically possible.
I mean, Brandon and I were standing in the same exact position that we had been left in.
Might I add that Brandon's hair was looking a bit more tousled than it had before their depature while my shirt had also risen up quite a few inches.
Things would defintely look a bit suspicious from their point of views.
"What happened to getting fro-yo?!" Edwin calls from his place down the hall as we all came into view.
I gave him a dismissive shrug. "We just got caught up.."
Brandon draped his arm across my shoulders and gave all of the boys promising smiles."Yes, indeed. Iris and I just got finished discussing global warming."
He clicks his tongue against the roof of his mouth whilst shaking his head back and forth. "Man, global warming is really something."
"Of course." Zion said in agreement even though he most likely had no idea what global warming was.
Edwin who was looking at the two of us skeptically then spoke up."Sure it is but I'm not entirely sure it could keep me interested for over twenty minutes."
I unintentionally change the topic at hands when I notice the absence of my older brother.
"Where's Nick?" I question.
"He left with some girl. I've never seen her before but they seemed to have a lot of chemistry." Austin informs me."Which is sort of weird because he never hinted to any of us that he had a love interest."
I broke out into a small smile at the blonde boy's words though quickly going on to wipe it from my face.
"I agree. That is sort of weird of Nick but it's Nick so let's honestly not think too much of it." I fib.
I glance up at a clock that was on the wall nearby before looking back over at the boys. "On a bright note, you're show starts in a little over an hour. I think that you all should probably get back to prepping for it." I suggest.
"You are right, as always, little Mara." Edwin says, pinching my cheeks as he passes by me to head to the main stage.
The rest of them all pass us by, leaving Brandon and I to stand alone once more.
As I turn to look at Brandon, he was already looking at me with a look I couldn't quite comprehend.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" I ask with a laugh.
He looks down at his feet for a second whilst gliding his tongue across his bottom lip.
"It's just- the way you reacted to the whole Nick situation, it just sort of seemed like you already knew about it."
I nod my head. "Maybe that's because I did."
He raises his eyebrows while biting down on his bottom lip."You know, I think that maybe the Mara's are the goats when it comes to lying. I just suppose that I'm the only one who can see straight through them."
I give him a small smile as I run my hand down his shoulder. "It can be our little secret, okay? For now though, you have a show to prepare for."
I manage to take one step down the hall before Brandon steps in front of me, placing his hands on my hips.
He tilts his head. "Now what have I always said about walking away from me before I'm finished with you?"
His eyes flicker down to my lips as he then cupped my cheeks in his hands, dipping his head down to connect his lips with mine.
