IRIS MARA
chapter threeI steal a glance at the peculiar boy who was sprawled out on the floor like a tormented child.
"Things could go by a lot smoother if you weren't being so uptight over there." He retorts. It's insane to me how you're related to Nick."
My brows furrow. "How am I being uptight? Just because I don't want to play uno, monopoly, or twister with you, does not make me uptight."
"Oh yeah? Well, you seem to be pretty uptight to me." He says.
I get up from my chair and head for the hall in hopes of finding an escape from the boy.
"You don't know me."
"And there you go, proving my point." He mumbles beneath his breath.
I wasn't sure where I was headed as I had only been to this house once before and none of the boys had bothered to give me a house tour.
I wander hesitantly through the house, not sure what to expect each time I'd turn a corner. My feet seem to freeze up when a darkness settles out across the house.
Of course, the power had to go out. It was such great timing for just that.
"Holy shit." I say as I squint my eyes in attempt to adapt to my very unfamiliar surroundings.
"Brandon!" I call out, this time a bit louder than the previous obsenties that I had spoken.
"Where are you?"
"I don't know." I reply, providing no help at all in the current predicament that we were in."I'm a little scared though, I will admit."
The sound of something crashing to the floor causes me to jump back, my back colliding with what I assume to be a wall. "What in the fuck was that?"
"It was just me. I think I knocked over Edwin's painting. He's going to kill me if I ruined it." I hear Brandon grumble in annnoyance.
I feel something brush my shoulder. I jump immediately at the sudden touch. "It's just me." I hear Brandon announce before I could scream or possibly throw any hands.
I hear him feeling around, fishing for hints on where we currently stand in the house.
"We're right by Zion's room." He tells me. A sigh follows. "It's a shame. If we were by Austin's, we could've had everything set out for us. The boy has everything in stock; snacks, batteries, condoms."
"Why would we need condoms?"
"You know, we're going to be trapped in here for a while. We have to pass the time some ho-." He goes to say before a sound of thunder rumbling sent me flying into his arms.
Brandon reacts surprising well at my actions, pulling me closer into his chest, wrapping his arms securely around my torso.
"Do you think Zion would mind if we crash in his room?" I question, feeling the boy's warm breath fanning over my neck as I held onto him tightly.
"Not at all." He responds, running his hands along the walls until he finds the doorknob.
"Look, I don't trust Zion's messy ass room. And I'm not trying to trip over anything and break my leg so I think it'll be our best approach if we crawl in there."
"Are you for real?"
"Uh yes," He responds,"If you want to shoot your shot, by all means, go for it. But I know for sure that my ass is crawling."
I feel him release me and drop to the ground, on all fours.
I was quick to follow.
"Wait up, Brandon."
My forehead soon comes smacks into a wall.
I was hoping Brandon wouldn't notice the sound of the collision but of course he had.
"Nice going, jackass." He says, laughing.
