Dinner had finished and all the royals had dismissed into their temporary chambers. In the middle of the night, Alfonso found himself trying to stay asleep but the thought of Rena not speaking to him at all today lingered in his mind. He walked the quiet halls of French court, he saw various paintings of the previous royals and Louis himself as a child. "It seems us humans grow on the daily" Alfonso points out studying the detail of Louis' painting. Suddenly, he heard whimpering down the hall and it sounded female. He curiously walked down the hallway and seen Eve Hapsburg crying to herself whilst sitting in a chair. "Eve" Alfonso started immediately getting the Austrian girl's attention. "I-I'm sorry if started you or woke you sir-" Eve struggled to speak. "Nonsense, what's bothering you?" Alfonso said kneeling down to comfort the damsel in distress. "I have younger siblings and they look up to me, after mother died they don't have someone to tell then stories or tuck them in at night because father is so busy. I do it and now that I'm gone they might think I left them forever Alfonso, I want to live for my sisters, I'm only seventeen I don't want to die young I just want them to trust me as the support and loving system they have, I know pathetic" Eve softly said while wiping her tears. "I don't think it's pathetic, you're just looking out for them, they'll be fine love" Alfonso reassures her while rubbing her back. Eve looks at him in a stunned way as she wasn't prepared for such words coming from the cold Pourtguese prince.
"Thank you sire" Eve softly said. "Alfonso, just call me Alfonso" he said stroking her cheek and placing a aoft kiss on her forehead. "I remember you Alfonso, the trails, you weren't particularly nice to me due to my apperance" Eve questioned teasingly to lighten the mood. Alfonso just chucked to himself and hugged Eve tighter. "Eve we were children, children are cruel" Alfonso defended. "So what you think I'm pretty now?" Eve questioned leaning closer. "You already know my answer" Alfonso whispered as his eyes got darker and his grip tightened around her waist. "What an unlikely pair" a voice called in front of the two culprits. "Juan" Alfonso complained. "Now now my Latin brother it is too late for you to be all lovey dovey with Lady Eve is it not?" Juan challenged. "Dear Juan, why are you up?" Eve fired back with her signature smirk.
"I happen to be on my way to join Louis and Caternia to plan on the upcoming festival arrangement" Juan explained. "A festival" Eve questioned. "You must not have read the pamphlet, the red and white festival? I honestly don't know but I hear its a French thing" Juan extrapolated. "Well Juan get to it, you wouldn't want the future King of France waiting?" Alfonso challenged. All Juan did was laugh and say a simple adios. Eve suddenly felt all the energy leave her body so she stood to return back to her quarters. "Do you need help my lady?" Alfonso offered. "No Alfonso, I'll be just fine and its Eve just Eve" she suggested while walking down the pitch narrow hallway that leads to her room. Alfonso enjoyed Eve's company as he enjoyed other women, he didn't want to think much of it but the story with Eve and her younger siblings hurt him. Alfonso never had siblings to love, cherish, and take care of. He didn't know how his future child, would think of his future father. If he treated him right or not, he just hoped the mother of his child treated the child right equally. With the thought, he went back to sleep still curious on Eve Hapsburg.
