y/n sat near the window at a coffee shop and looked at the rain falling down hitting the sidewalk. she was wearing an oversized hoodie with leggings under and had her hair up in a messy bun. she took a sip of her coffee and wonder how she became into this heartless person.

y/n sat at the same sit where she had her first date, kiss, and break up with ethan. the boy that stood by side her when she was feeling down, the boy that understood her weirdness, the boy that loved her no matter what. she felt heartless when she broke up with him cause she wasn't loving herself.

"i can't do this anymore," y/n said as she put her hand away from ethan. "what's wrong" ethan asked. "i can't love you if i don't love myself enough. you deserve someone better" y/n said as she looked down. "no, i deserve you. i love you and we can work this out" ethan said trying to keep his cool.

"we tried to work things out, but we both know that we are going to fall apart" y/n looked at ethan's eyes. "we both run towards each other for comfort when we have no one else and let go. this isn't healthy"

ethan's face showed so many emotions but he tried to be calm "how can you do this to someone who loves you and pretend it's fine. i don't know how i've kept my anger on you so low, but that was because i love you." y/n stayed quiet and didn't say a word "have you met someone so heartless that you just question how they got there in the first place? how can you make someone so heartbroken and have them still love you?"

y/n eyes started to water up, making her vision blurry. he was right but she just didn't want to admit it. " i love you, y/n" ethan said and walked away from the coffee shop.

y/n stared at the wall and realize how long ago was the breakup but the memory kept hunting her. she thinks about him and how he left her with an "i love you" and never talked again. she knew that later on he found another girl and was happier than ever, but little did she know ethan still loved her no matter what.
