Chap2: She's my Bow and I'm her Arrow

Im sitting by my window watching closely the raindrops on its panes. Bumubuhos ang ulan nang walang humpay. Samahan pa ng kulog at kidlat.

I look at my bow at the corner of my room. It was my lucky charm. Kuya gave it to me during my first National Cup and luckly I brought home the bacon. Kaya since then yun na ang ginagamit q sa mga competitions.

Its a traditional wooden metal bow with black as its linings and edges and a white wooden center piece carved in my initials paired with my three lucky metaloid arrow :") It is so special to me that I named her Condense.

I know her name is a bit weird :3 pero ask nio nlng c purple bat condense? (P/N cLue? anung favorate flavor nio ng skyflakes?)

I stood up and grab my bow.

"Hello little buddy. Kamusta? Still breathing pa ba?

I let out a deep sigh and said "Boring namn ng araw na ito Cons".

I lay down my bed while stirring Cons with my right hand

"Anu kayang pwdng gawin?"

Then all of a sudden someone knocks on my door. I brought back Cons and open my older brother who is holding two smoking bowl of hot ramen.

"WOW! Ulam!".

"Oy uber ka na sa commercial. Yan ba ang epekto ng dalawang oras na di pagkain?

"Kuya naman -isang oras lang. hehehe pero thanks a lot Kuya! The best ka talaga ^^

At pinagsaluhan nila ang mainit na ramen sa malamig na hapon.

"Kuya sa susunod na linggo na ang Sea Games na gaganapin sa Tokyo, sasama ka ba samin ni mama sa Sabado? Gusto kasing libutin natin ni mama ang downtown. Alam mo na para makabili sa Tokyo divisoria" - sabi ko sabay tawa.

"Naku baka di ako makasabay sa inyo may kailangan pa kasi akong tapusin sa office bago makalipad ng Tokyo".

"Ganun ba. Sige sasabihin ko na lang kay mama ng maaga baka kasi ipabook ka na rin niya. Anong araw ka kaya makakalipad?

"Kapag wala nang gravity sa Earth"

"Kuya na man eh! Yung totoo. Baka di ka manood ng laro ko. Magtatampu talaga ako sayo!

"Ikaw naman di mabiro syempre manonood ako. Sea games kaya ito! Im so proud of you little brother! Ikaw na ang tumupad sa pangarap nating dalawa. Nakatali na kasi ako sa opisina. Hehehe! Kung mapapaaga ang meeting ko sa mga future investors at maclose namin ang deal agad agad lilipad ako ng Tokyo. Ok na bayun?

"Sige ba! Pabaunan mo narin ako ng bagoong kuya. Baka kasi maubos yung baon namin ni mama. Walang mabilhan dun.

"Ahahaha! May bagoong don Sky hindi mo lang alam ang pangalan!

"Oo na suko na ako. Basta manonood ka ng laro ko huh.

Kinaumagahan, maaga akong nagising kaya napagpasyahan kong magjogging na lang muna habang tulog pa sina mama. Pagkatapos ng dalawang ikot sa subdivision namin nagpahinga muna ako sa may mini park ng may nakita akong arrow holder sa may damuhan.

I check the arrows and I can tell they are expensive and very sharp. The edges of each arrows can make something bleed if aimed with force.

Naputol ang paghanga ko nang may namataam akong grupo ng kalalakihan sa di kalayuan. Napatakbo ako bigla nang makita kong pinagtutulungan nila ang isang babae.

Tumingin ako iba pa niyang mga kasama at masasabi kung may kaya ang mga ito at mukhang trip lang ang manggulo basi nga sa mga dala nilang tubo at bat.

"Get your filthy hands off me you imbiciles!- pagpupumiglas ng babaeng sentro ng kaguluhan.

Kahit sa dim ng ilaw sa poste makikita ko ang tapang niya. Matalino at alertong mga mata pero kay lambot at babasaging mukha sa kabila ng suot na cargo shorts at sports shirt. Para siyang baby china pero made in Tondo sa lakas ng kanyang aura.

"What did you say b*tch?!" Galit na sambit ng lalaking may hawak ng braso nito. At sa isang iglap tinuhod niya ang lalake sabay hampas ng kanyang bow sa katabi.

"Throw me some arrows!

Napatingin ako sa kumpun ng mga panang binitbit ko pa. Pinasa ko sa kanya ang isang pana at sa panggilalas ko ay pinana niya sa binti ang lalakeng susugod sana sa kanya.

"Again!

Im about to throw another one to her when someone hit my shoulder and the holder slipped through my hands. Hahambalusin pa sana ulit ako nang isangga ni ms baby china ang kanyang bow. Nakita kong nagcrack ito bago inihampas niya sa mukha ng lalake na napasudsod sa lupa.

"Hey you!

-Then I throw another arrow as the third guy is about to smash her with a base ball bat. And with so much reflexes she hit the poor guy's limbs. He fell on the ground with pain all over his face.

"That's for destroying my bow you jerks." Then she kick the side of the guy who cursed her.
Then they run as fast as they can.

"Arrows." She open up her palm on me.

"That was.. Awesome! Can we so that again?". I burst out of mixed emotions while she looked at me like im sort of an idiot or something.

"Youre weird. Arrows. Give me back my arrows or you'll never see the rest of the day."

"The way you aim is just like wow! And your arrows are very sharp. And your bow--

"Crap." She further examine her bow after noticing a few cracks.

"Im sorry about your bow. I hope its not that damaged. Well I know someone who can fix-

"Nevermind I can fix it myself. Now will you hand over my arrows Im going you know".

"Oh im sorry I forgot. Here". I handed over her set of arrows.

Tatalikod na sana siya pagkatapos makuha ang mga pana nang hawakan ko ang mga kamay niya. Then Ive felt the strangest beautiful feeling Ive ever felt in my existence. At base sa reaksyon niya naramdaman din niya ang nasabing damdamin.

"We havent formally introduce ourselves to each other. Hi Im Sky--

She look at me then accept my hand.

"Im Ace." And once again we felt that static. My heart skip a beat as Im drowning towards those pair of fiercy innocent eyes of hers. Its like everything went slow-mo and its just the two of us. Then she blink twice and the trance was broken. I didnt notice shes pulling her hands off mine.

Then she grab her back pack laying not from a far then with no words nor turning back she ran off the approaching dawn.

Nakamasid lamang ako sa daang tinakbuhan niya hanggang tulungan na siyang nawala sa aking paningin.

"Boy whats happening to me?" I asked my confuse self and look down. Then I see something shiny. I pick it up leveling to my eyes.

It was a silver bracelet with a bow and arrow pendant on it.

"I guess you drop something my runaway lad." I said to my self eyeing more the said jewel.

"Ace" I said her name again. "We will see each other again Ace. Soon". Then I put the bracelet inside my pocket with that wide grin in my face. For in a very strange setting and time Ive met a stranger who gave me the strangest feelings Ive ever felt in my whole life. And she's an archer for crying ouy loud!

"Ace. Your my bow and Im your arrows." And off I went home.
