1-It is the Party before the Ceremony

EMILY'S POV

"I think you should talk to you family and try to sort out matters. It is the reason for all your stress." I told her 5th time.

"But my family are not as supportive as your family. They will kill me." Doll told me.

Doll is my 3-month old customer. She has a hug family problem. She has found her mate but she is carrying her baby from a one-night stand. She regularly comes to me for solving her problem. I give her the same advice every time but then also she comes up every Thursday. She just can't seem to talk to her parents. I had to end this customer's problem. It was a black spot on my name.

"OK Doll, bring your family next Friday. I have another appointment next Thursday."

"Don't lie to me. It is the party before The Mating Ceremony." She replied with a victorious smile on her face.

I shrugged it away. Yes, she was right but I didn't want to admit it. I had to go for the party 1 months before the mating ceremony. Most people found out their mates at this party. But I had a strange feeling that I am not one of them.

She left. I called Shweta inside. She was my assistant. She kept my things organised and helped me with my appointments.

"Yes ma'am," she said as soon as she came in,"How can i help you?" 

"Please leave all this formality. When is my next appointment?"

"At 4:35 pm. You have 2 hours. Will you leave or complete the file you were required to submit the Alpha 2 days later?" she said in her usual i-know-it-all tone.

" I will complete the file later. I am going shopping with my friends." I said excited.

"Sure, ma'am. But come at time because after this meeting, you have two more, one with your friend and other with the Alpha. I don't think your friend would like getting late as she has come from faraway lands." Shweta replied, quite interested meeting someone from another pack.

"yes, I will come at time. Bye"I replied.

I went outside and took a water bottle to drink on my way. I went home and took leave of my parents and went with my friends. My friends were not the one to be messed with. they were very strong wolves and apparently, still went for fighting lessons daily. 

It was no secret that female wolves went for shopping before the Party and The Mating Ceremony. We were also going for the same. Me and my friends were pretty excited about going to the Party. I had thought what i wanted to buy already. I just wanted to make sure they were altered before the ceremony.

The mall was pretty. big. I was excited and a bit nervous too. For, I didn't want to be mated with someone who is a part of the pack administration. They would be very dominating. I didn't want to lose my freedom. Although, I am a beta's daughter, still, I know my mom continued her job at the insistence of the Alpha.

"Emily, what is the dress code this time? You remember that this time you had to decide the dress code," my friend, Rose, told me.

"Yes, I remember, it very well, madam. I have decided too. The colour will be blue and the dress will be a gown that hugs your body till waist and flows down. No one will be wearing the same shade." I replied. I had a pretty image of my dress in my mind. It would be pretty, with little additions of Shweta here and there. Did I tell you that Shweta was fashion designer before being my assistant? She was pretty good at it. 

" Okay. I love blue. Nice choice. So now can we go to buy to at the shop?" Lacey snapped impatiently.

We went upstairs. Rose decided that she would wear the darkest shad and nearly had a quarrel with Cathey as she always wanted what Rose chose. But it was Rose who won the battle this time.

I chose a light blue dress which was almost empty, so it had place for Shweta's additions. It was also bright, so I knew i was going to stand out in the party. But i decided to buy a matching everything. Literally. 

4 out of us denied to buy shoes since they claimed that they had a blue pair at home. I bought blue ballet shoes which I knew would complement my dress at the party. I also bought blue purse which was small to hold my makeup kit but big enough to hold my phone and few things separately. I also bought two pairs of jewellery, which was done only at the recommendation of Casey.  I bought a new phone case, which was also blue. I bought a whole new make-up kit, since I know they will be getting ready at my house. And Hair Accessories to complete my look were last thing which we bought. 

I told Rose to take my things home since she was going to keep others' things at my home too. I went to office just 5 minutes earlier than when the meeting was due. 

"I thought that you were going to be late." Shweta screamed as soon as I entered.

"Okay. You come home with me today. Take all my shopping and make your additions. Before that, take it to the tailor to alter it. I should look most beautiful of us seven." I told her.
