Catch Me, Please.

~ Prologue ~

"Never fall inlove because everything that falls, gets broken."

Yan ang pinaniniwalan ko noon.

NOON.

That was before I met her. After that, everything changed. I changed.

She changed me.

But look at what was happening to us now....

I was on a crowded hallway. I really hate it here. It reminds me of the smell of blood and it brought shivers to my spine. Oh how I wanted to leave this place.

But no.

Her family was here. Even her closest friends were here as well. Some were crying while others were just restraining themselves to do so and prayed silently for her to be alright.

You know, the hospital's operation room hallway wasn't the best place to be at the moment.

Especially when I was the main reason why she was here in the first place.

I too was trying my best not to cry like them. 

Di ako pwedeng umiyak.

She would hate me more if I do. Even though gustong-gusto kong pumasok ng kwarto na yun at yakapin siya ng mahigpit.

But sadly, I can't.

I have to be strong. 

For her. 

For the both of us.

"It's a 70-30 chance she'll survive the operation. Pero if she does survive, It will be too late. Her heart will give out on her. She will only last for less than 24 hours. We can only hope for a miracle. I'm so sorry."

Ang mga sinabi ng doctor niya ang paulit-ulit na lumalaro sa isipan ko. Nasa loob siya ngayon ng operating room. Even though she had a slim chance of surviving, gusto pa rin ng pamilya niya na mailigtas siya.

They knew she was a tough girl. She wouldn't give up this easy.

She was fighting against death. She was fighting to stay alive.

I slowly stared at the ceiling.

"I may have not always believed that you existed. Pero hear me out just once." I whispered softly.

Oo. Desperado na ako. Pero alam kong siya lang ang makatutulong sa akin. Sa amin. 

Siya lang.

"Please let her live. She doesn't deserve this. Please. Kailangan pa namin siya. Ako. Kailangan ko pa siya. Please. Kahit ngayon lang..."

And then, narinig ko na nagkakagulo sa loob ng operating room. The doctors' in the room started shouting, giving commands to the nurses. But then .....

I heard that familiar sound.

BEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP...

It could only mean one thing....

Her mother suddenly burst into tears. I also heard the others follow pursuit in crying.

And I soon found myself tearing up. The tears I prevented from falling escaped my eyes.

This cant be...

I dropped to the floor on my knees.

She's gone?
