To my future children
I may not give you lots of shiny toys
I may not let you skip your chores
I may not give junk food all the time
To my future children
I will give you what I can
I will give you love and relaxation
I will make sure there is food in your belly
To my future children
You may grow up with questions I can't answer
You may grow up not as happy as you deserve
You may grow up with disorders, disabilities, or illnesses
To my future children
I'll make sure to give my story at the right time
I'll make sure to give my all to you and bring you joy
I'll make sure to let you know I love you no matter what
To my future children
I want you to know I'll always love you
I want you to know I want what's best for you
I want you to know that you'll always be mine
