"I made a mistake."

"What did you do?"

The line got quiet and then I had a suspicious feeling.

"Izzy.....did you cheat on him?"

"Yeah......I did."

"Izzy...."

"I'm sorry Aaliyah. I know I shouldn't have done it. I didn't mean to do it."She cried into the phone.

"Have you tried to talk to him?"

"Yes but he won't listen! He looked at me like he hated me and told me we were done and walked out."

"Well Izzy, give him some time and some space. He's hurting."

"I'm hurting too Aaliyah! Do you think I meant to cheat on him?!"

"Izzy....I know you love him and I know you made a mistake. But he trusted you with his heart......"

"I made a mistake. Why won't he just forgive me?"

"Because you cheated on him Izzy..."

"You're supposed to be my friend. You're supposed to make me feel better."

"did you forget that I've been cheated on and I know how that feels.... and I am your friend. I'm just not gonna tell you want you want to hear because you're upset. I'm gonna tell you what you NEED to hear because you're wrong. I'm on Gelo's side right now. It was a mistake, I get it, but that doesn't mean that it hurts any less. Give him some time and space and let him heal."

I hung up the phone and put my head in my hands. She and Gelo are both my best friends but Izzy is dead ass wrong.

I heard a knock and I lifted my head and seen Gelo in my doorway. He gave me a soft half of a smile and I got up and went to hug him.

"I'm so sorry boo." I whispered to him.

We pulled apart and went out on my balcony to talk.

"I take it she told you..."

"Yeah. I'm so sorry Gelo."

"It's not your fault."

"How are you feeling right now?"

"confused..... angry.... hurt... betrayed."

"It's okay to feel like that Gelo..."

"I just don't know why she'd do that to me. What did I do wrong? I thought I was a good boyfriend." He said to me.

His voice cracked and I looked over at him. He was looking at me with tears in his eyes and my heart broke for him.

"Okay, LiAngelo Ball. It had NOTHING to do with you. She messed up. It wasn't your fault. You are an amazing person."

"Why should I do? Should I break up with her? Should I forgive her and stay with her?"

"Gelo, I can't give you that answer, that's something you're gonna have to decide for yourself. But let me ask you this though, do you love her?"
