I woke up, the white hospital lights blinding me, the smell of disinfectant and bleach invaded my nostrils, an eerie silence went through my ears. My body felt like pins were poking every cell in my body. When I was finally able to look around, I spotted my mother next to the hospital bed that I was laying in, snoring. I almost lost my breath when I turned my head and saw him; Ace. He sat across from my bed, staring at me, no emotion. His hair looked touselled, he had allowed his goatee to grow wild, a pair of grey joggers and an old band tee clad his body. Ace moved closer to my bed, his hands rubbing my sore feet. I wanted to kick his foot but, sadly, I hadn't gained all my strength.

"Why?"

"Why, what?"

"Why?" he repeated, louder.

"I don't know what you're talking about," my eyes grew wide as he stalked up the other side of my bed, snatched my face between his hands, and placed a rough kiss against my lips. I sat there in shock as he pulled away, keeping my eyes on him.

"Why?"
