I slid my sword into my sheath and was ready to go. The day was finally here. I almost thought it'd never come. Walking to the other side, my body feels heavier, not only from worry that we might not succeed but also from the weight of this armor. We were each given a set of chain mail, with slight variations made especially for us.
Along with a long chainmail shirt, I was provided with gauntlets and a breastplate that had a crude engraving of the kingdom's insignia. My sword was sharpened and polished, and I could see myself reflected in the blade just before I slid it into its sheath. The Five's armor sets were similar to mine, but with their own personal engravings on them that matched those on their weapons.
"Are you ready?" Michael asked and I nodded.
"As ready as I'll ever be," I say, they begin to walk, "Wait, before we go out there, we need to talk."
"Those are never good words when coming from a girl," Aru jokes and I roll my eyes.
"Seriously, listen up. I just wanted to say thank you, I know I have said it before but from the bottom of my heart, I won't ever be able to repay you for everything you've done for me. You guys are truly amazing and I will forever love you," I tell them smiling, then the smile fades, "Finally, we need to talk about this. None of us want to talk about it but if I were to die today-"
"But you won't," Aru interjects, Ivan whacks him from the back of the head.
"Don't interrupt," he says, "But you won't."
"But if I do, this kingdom needs a ruler and I don't have any children to take over. So as Queen, I made this decree last night, it says that you Five will be interim rulers of Isaigalla until you find someone suitable to take over, if you want someone to take over, as far as I'm concerned, you guys can rule it forever if you want," I hand them the decree. I see sadness wash over their faces.
"Arrabella, we can't accept this," Michael says.
"You have to," I tell them, "I have to explore every alternative, including the fact that you guys might die tonight and that thought breaks my heart but it's a risk. I have to worry about this because I could die and I need to know that Isaigalla is going to be in good hands if I do. Please, you have to accept this."
The Five look at each other before Michael nods, "Very well Arrabella, we will accept this, but you are not going to die today so we don't have to worry about it."
I smile, "Good because if I die, then you guys are really bad at your job."
This results in a couple chuckles and grins. Aru comes over and grips me in a tight hug, I hug him back. The thought of never seeing them again pains my heart but I have to have hope. We nod and finally leave the tent. Everyone is in formation, King Philip and Prince James are sitting on horses at the front of one of the lines, ready whenever we are. I look at all these people ready to give their lives for me and nod.
"Today is the day," I announce, "A day I once feared would not be here but it is. Today is the day we wash the tyranny of Victor Lynx from Isaigalla and restore it to it's glory! We will bring back light and happiness and make it a place that you love to live in. We thank Arkade today for fighting with us, their loyalty will not go unrewarded and I thank each and everyone of you for believing in me enough to fight and lay down your life for me. I know we will succeed today because we are fighting for a just cause and we have motivation and love and courage and when we do succeed, I promise I will be a just ruler and ensure each and everyone of my people are taken care of. Last but not least, I thank the Magnificent Five for helping me get to this point, I couldn't have done it without them."
"Let's hear it for Queen Arrabella!" Aru shouts and everyone erupts in chanting my name. I beam proudly, I cannot let them down.
"Now, everyone remember your stances and formation, do not break formation, we will be destroyed otherwise. If no one has any other questions, let's take back our Kingdom!" I shout, raising my sword and leading the way. The fighting will take place near the castle. The first group will do a blitz attack and take Victors soldiers by surprise, this will force them to retreat to the castle where groups two and three will then attack. With all this going on, group four will secure a way into the castle for us, and group five, consisting of myself and the Magnificent Five will end this once and for all. It was a solid plan, let's hope it goes accordingly.
