Stasia's POV
"I'm going to come with you." Crystelle spoke as if she already knew what was going in my mind.
I clenched my jaw as different scenarios went through my mind and all of them ended horribly.
"Where are we even going to start?" She continued. "How does she expect us to help without giving us the least bit of infor-"
"Crys, if you really want to come with me then go pack your bags. We will leave tomorrow morning." I cut her off and made my way into my room. As much as I loved her, it wasn't a situation where I could think with her talking in the background the whole time.
Shutting my door, I clenched my hands around the doorknob as my mind processed the situation.
"So she finally contacted you? What a sister! Only contacts you when she needs you." A familiar voice came from the side where my bed would be.
"I'm not in the mood right now as you can clearly tell. Why don't you go make some werewolves instead of bothering me?" Letting go of the knob, I turned to the source of the voice.
"Oh how you wound me. And here I thought you were starting to grow fond of my company." The sound of the springs of the bed informed me that he was getting up from it. "And you know it's the mates that make the babies, who am I to interfere?"
I scoffed. "I think you are the only one to interfere."
"Ahh it's not only about your sister, is it?" The cheeky bastard's footsteps resonated through the room as he made his way to me. "I saw that you met your mate today." The footsteps stopped and the heat resonating from his body informed me that he was right in front of me.
"Why?" My hands balled into fists.
"Why what, my dear Stasia?" One of his hands came up to softly caress my cheek. "Why do you have a mate?" His hand now made it's way down my neck, only to stop at the bottom of it. "Do you think I choose who gets to be mates with whom?"
"Isn't that how it is?" Came my stoic reply.
"It would be so much of work and even more boring if I had to choose, my love. I only make the souls, it's up to the souls to choose each other." He leaned in to whisper softly into my ear. "If only it was up to me."
Turning my face to the other side, I pushed him away from me causing him to chuckle."Do you know where she is?"
"You already know that I know everything. Why bother asking me that?" He was testing my patience. "And you also already know that I can't interfere."
"Yet you do."
"I just find the loopholes." He hummed.
I turned my face back towards him."Then find one for this situation, please." Though the last word came out as more of a whisper.
His hand that was resting on my neck now held one of my hands. "You know that I can't refuse you." His thumb gently caressed the back of my hand. "All I can do is advice you, my love. And my advice to you is to go to your mate. The answer you are looking for will soon follow."
I opened my mouth to protest but he cut me off before I could.
"You are mates for a reason. Souls do not only choose each other for the sole purpose of love, there's destiny and fate involved too." He placed a kiss on my cheek and I heard a smile in his words. "You'll learn that sooner or later."
Before I could reply or do anything for that matter, his presence from the room was gone. That flirtatious ass of a Moon God could never give straight answers.

"I'm sorry for last night. I was under some stress." I apologized to Crystelle as soon as we met up the next morning at the dining hall to have some breakfast before we left.
"Don't worry about it, Sia." She handed me some omelette and toast.
"Thank you." I took the plate from her gratefully. "Have you informed your boss?"
"Yes, he thinks we're going on a surprise vacation for your birthday." She laughed bitterly at that. "Did you inform yours?"
"No, I didn't." I replied casually which caused her to laugh genuinely.
"Can I ask you where we are going to start?"
Her question was followed by the ringing of our doorbell. It was weird because we didn't usually get any guests.
"I'll get it, stay here." I told Crystelle when I heard her shift in her seat to stand up.
Cautiously I walked to the door, listening intently for any sounds coming from the other side of it. There were multiple footsteps and a little bit of whispering because of which I couldn't make out the owners of the voices.
Not unlocking the door chain, I turned the doorknob and opened the door only to be greeted by a familiar voice.
"It's been long, mate."
