Jamir

"Jai, man. Come on son." I begged, as he continued to scoot away from me. I just changed his diaper, but little man was bucking on his pants for the longest.

"Jai'Dence." I warned, but he laughed. Talking back with baby talk. He was already crawling, and he was only 5 months. Granted he mostly scoots, but my boy was a prodigy in the making. I smiled at him, distracting him long enough to scoop him up.

"Got your little bad ass." I teased as he giggled and kicked in my arms. I laughed with him, just getting caught up in the moment. It never stopped amazing me how much of myself I saw in him.

Rose was there as well, but Jai was truly my jr. I felt like I was looking at my baby pictures. Except he had his mother's eyes.
"Leave my baby alone." Spoke up the same woman, that was always on my mind.

She came over to kiss me, taking our son with her. She immediately pulled off the same pants, I just struggled to put on him. "Tell your daddy you wanna be comfortable in your house." She cooed to him, and he smiled.

"Well were about to go." I announced, rolling my eyes at the two of them. Jai always calmed for Rose. It was like her voice was the answer to everything.

He would always perk up just hearing her talk. Rosalina was the center of everything in this family. Her smile lights every room, and her laugh filled every crevice. We pretty much revolved around her.

"And where are you taking him?" She demanded, raising her brow playfully. "To see his God sister." I answered her, as I watched her talk to our son in Spanish.

"You wanna See Priscilla?" She cooed in her baby talk. Making him scream out his laughter. I felt myself smiling with them for no reason. "Ugh, I wanna go too, but I can't." She pouted, as Jai let her put his pants back on.

"I miss my little munchkin." She added as I nodded. It's not like I was neglecting my niece, but I was preoccupied with my family. I got a call from Kailey, expressing some concerns with her.

Of course I blamed myself. Priscilla wasn't the type of kid to just act out. There must be something deeper going on, and I was gonna make it my business to find out.

My niece always felt more like a daughter, and with Scilla shutting Kailey out. I wanted to make sure she knew that I wasn't going for that. It's been awhile since I took her on a daddy daughter date. Today I planned on reminding her that she was still my special little girl.

"You make sure she enjoys herself. Bring her home and I'll cook her favorite." She suggested as I agreed. Rose came over to kiss all over Jai. He just chewed on his fingers soaking it in.

She turned to me and I pulled her in quickly. Grasping the back of her neck. I kissed her sensually, slipping in my tongue, I ended it as she moaned in my mouth. I smiled laughing at her mugging me.

"Bye Jamir." She spat, rolling her eyes, and heading for the front. "See you later!" I shouted, hearing the door slam. I shook my heard, smirking over at Jai.

"Your mom is bi polar." I joked, as he mugged me. I kissed my teeth, gathering him up as he laughed from the motion. "Nawh traitor. Don't laugh with me now." Jai just baby talked, giggling at my expression.

He didn't have a care in the world, and that gave me a rewarding feeling. My job was to shield him from the horrors of this world. My son would worry about coodies, and knee scraps. Not bullet wounds, and destruction.

I was wrong to prep Priscilla. I felt the more she knew, the less the unknown could hurt her. I made her more than aware of her surroundings, but she never shrunk away from it.
