I apologize for the long wait, but I've been struggling with this chapter. The only way I could get this out, is making it long, and adding a new POV. Just so the scene can play out how I've envisioned. This is a one time POV, but I hope it shines some light into the character. So, brace yourselves.Jamir
I was livid. I stared back at Priscilla, as her features mimicked mine. We were at a stand still, and I was gonna win. "Who told you about the academy?" I asked again through my teeth.
"You." She answered with a smirk. "I never said a word.."
"You didn't have to. I figured it out." She boasted slyly. "People aren't born special. Their made." She continued, as an eerie feeling crawled through me. "I know im unique and part of that comes from you uncle." She praised, smiling slightly.
"I wonder what makes you special. Quiero conocer a tu creador Quiero pedirles que me hagan como tú.(I want to meet your maker. I want to ask them to make me like you." She answered smoothly, in a child like manner. I was lost in her sentence. Only understanding part of it.
"English Priscilla. This isn't a game." I snapped, asserting the authority I held. She actually sighed, and even rolled her eyes. I sat up straighter, trying my hardest not to bug out on her grown ass. Is this what Kailey was getting at?
"I don't want to make you angry. I just want to know the truth. Who are you Jamir?" She stated more than asked. "Where is this coming from?" I pressed, ignoring her
attempt at a question. "Mommy said you were different. I want to know how much." She replied, as if it was obvious.Jai'Dence began to cry then. I guess he finally woke, feeling that we had stopped. I turned around in my seat gathering my thoughts. This smelled of ShaMilla's doing.
Priscilla was smart, and very much intuitive for her age. Just not in this way. I felt like she knew about the deal I made. She seemed hungry to know more about the exact place, I tried desperately to keep them from.
Though she never asked outright, her actions were telling me differently. Priscilla was prepping herself. Just like I taught her. I cursed myself for even making her think in this way.
Regardless, I wouldn't allow this to happen. If ShaMilla thought she could convince me to send Priscilla instead of Jai, by putting Scilla up to this. She was entirely wrong. I would dead the attempt of her even considering it.
I'll have to speak with Milla later. My mind was too focused on Scilla. I drove home on auto pilot, thinking hard on how to get Priscilla to fess up. I pulled up to the house, seeing Rosalina was already home.
"You think you could grab Jai for me?" I asked as I parked. Priscilla smiled and nodded, getting out the car and going around his side. I watched her movements for something. Anything to tell me that my niece was being trained.
Scilla walked ahead as we headed up the steps and I unlocked the door. I felt crazy for even checking for signs. Priscilla was a child, incapable of learning about my past, or the academy, without help. If she knew anything I would find out.
"Oh you guys are here!" Rose smiled, rushing over to greet us. I locked the door while she kissed and cooed over the kids. Priscilla loved Rose, and always brightened around her. I actually felt like she acted her age more with her.
I smelt the dinner she was cooking. My stomach growled as I shuffled behind them further into the house. "Scilla go get cleaned up, and then we can set the table." Rose suggested as Scilla nodded, handing over the carseat.
She darted off towards her room, as Rose un strapped our son. He was real fussy, but Rose kept a smile on her face. "Oh I know man. I know." She cooed, kissing his face as he calmed. I wrapped my arms around them, kissing her temple.
