It takes another two years for the experiential learning to conclude. Not because the formation of the Absolute Yang body took too long, but because Yan Jing was adamant on ingraining the instinct of self-regulation into Fucheng's mind. They ran exercises on a daily basis, with Fucheng meditating and slowly rotating his qi in and out of his body. Given the boundless qi Fucheng soon found himself possessing, it was almost unbearably difficult to wind those energy strands back into his body, tightly pressing them together until only the lowest thrum of qi emanated from Fucheng's body.
Letting them out was much, much faster, the Yang qi practically pouring out on its own accord, but then Fucheng had to be careful not to release it with so much that it ignited. The first few explosions nearly hit his older brother, and that more than anything compelled Fucheng to learn control.
Each time Fucheng completed an exercise set, Yan Jing would be right next to him, relentless: "Again, little brother." Fucheng, who knew how to train but had never trained so much in his life, found that he could bear it when his brother looked incredibly proud every time he succeeded.
What Fucheng did look forward to was the sword-fighting. Yan Jing had urged him to bring two things on this trip, the titanium sword and the Yin egg, and Fucheng spent many days honing his sword ability to expert mastery with his brother and, surprisingly enough, Mu Hong.
Fucheng was almost sad to go.

Mu Hong lifted the warm and subtly breathing egg out of the Yin pool, and looked it over with a critical eye. "It looks like its embryo has been fully formed. It shouldn't take that long for it to hatch."
Fei Chuan nodded at the assessment, then turned towards the direction of the sect. The timing is about right for the [Protagonist] to finish purifying his body, even without the [Villain] being there to constantly spur him on to greater heights.
Fei Chuan smothers his resentment at the thought. If he hadn't dragged Fucheng out of the sect, the plot would have placed his little brother on the trajectory to ruin, forcing him to clash with He Liufeng again and again, constantly building up the [Protagonists] while destroying Fucheng's self worth. From there, the outcome was clear: Fucheng would burn himself out for strength, and turn himself into a monster just to beat the [Protagonists].
The [Protagonists] would still win, of course. The world was usually magnanimous and when it came its [Protagonists]. In fact, Fei Chuan would bet that all the treasures he'd given Fucheng would have found their way to He Liufeng eventually, starting with the Lightning Orb and ending with the Yin egg. Who cares if they weren't in the plot? All that's good falls to the [Protagonists].
(Fei Chuan has spent over a hundred years verifying this hypothesis. And it hurts.)
Now though, he knows for sure there's something the [Protagonist] can't get. [They] like to dote on their chosen ones, but [They] can only operate according to the immutable laws of the world they're operating in. Water is always wet. Wind is always lighter than Earth.
And in this world, a fully Pure Yang cultivator would always combust if they tried to ascend to an Absolute Yang cultivator.
Food for thought.

By prior agreement, Fei Chuan and his younger brother returned looking haggard, Fei Chuan's qi supply nearly depleted, and absent one Mu Hong. When the sect elder's asked, Fei Chuan only shook his head solemnly and recounted a terrifying tale in which the three of them stumbled a Wyvyrn Nest, and had to fend off the Wyvern Alpha. To preserve their lives, Fei Chuan had to use the strongest move he knew, which was a forcibly mixing of Yin qi and Yang qi, and when the ensuing explosion cleared, Junior Brother Mu was nowhere to be found.
