Peter loved hearing the story about how his parents knew they belonged together, about how they longed for each other. He thought it was the most romantic thing he had ever heard. The only thing that could top it would be his own romance story.
It was a mission for him to find his one and only soulmate. He would go on dates every Saturday, but no matter how hard he tried he just couldn't find the one. Everyone has a soulmate, everyone belongs with someone. Just why is it so hard for him to find his soulmate?
Every girl he had met with seemed so nice, but the flare just wasn't there. He began to give up hope. Maybe his soulmate got ran over or something had happened to poor person.
"Have you ever considered maybe girls just aren't the one for you?" Asked MJ. MJ was Peter's best friend, she helped him out on everything.
"I don't know, I've never really thought about dating a guy before though."
"Well that's kinda what dating randomly is for, just for you to find someone you like," MJ smiled, "go find a guy and ask to date them and see how it goes."
"I guess I could give it a shot," Peter sighed looking at MJ, "but what if it turns out I don't like men."
"Just say 'excuse me I need to go the bathroom' and leave," MJ snickered, "or just say it isn't working."
"Ok, I-I can do this," Peter went on his phone and swiped through guys that seemed attractive and nice. He spent nearly an hour going through guys with MJ until they found this one guy Chris Welsh.
"He looks good and seems nice, you should set one up!" MJ said. Peter sent him message to find him instantly replying.
"He said yes!" Peter said with excitement. "We have a lunch date tomorrow."
"Wow, that was really quick," MJ said laughing, "congrats bud."
"Chris and Peter huh," Peter began to fantasize about how this was going to work with a guy. He dreamt about his life as gay man and he actually found it quite nice.
The next morning he spent a whole three hours trying to figure out what to wear coming to the conclusion that a hoodie with jeans would show off his personality more.
He walked over to the diner and sat down waiting to find Chris.
"Are you Peter?" A man said.
"Yea," Peter looked up to find Chris," that would be me." He smiled. Chris sighed and sat across from Peter, the two sat there in complete silence until Chris finally opened his mouth again.
"You look kinda young," Chris scoffed, "younger than me."
"I'm only seventeen," Peter said," I am the same age as you."
"WOW, stalker much?" Chris leaned in, "Are you that much in love with me." He snickered and leaned back.
"Um, I just met you.." Peter said looking around, "I-I think I'm gonna go.." Peter said rising, Chris didn't hesitate to grab Peter's hand and forcibly pull him back down.
"You can not leave! Not once has a date ever left and you won't be the first." Chris sneered.
"No wonder your still single," Peter winced at Chris' grip on his hand," hey can you let go? You are hurting me." Peter grabbed Chris' hand with his other hand to try and pry it open. Chris slapped Peter's hand away and gripped onto his first hand even harder.
Yep definitely not my soulmate thought Peter, he sighed and struggled to free his hand.
"Stop struggling, you're making a scene." Chris said harshly.
"Just let.me.go!" Peter yelled. Everyone stared at the two now. Nobody came to help.
"Is there a problem here?" A man said. Chris looked up to see the man and smiled.
"Nope, no problem." Chris said mischievously, the man looked over at Peter who now had tears in his eyes, he carefully examined the table to find Peter was being held down.
"Well then," the man said, "I'll be taking him." The man then grabbed Chris' hand helping Peter get released. He grabbed Peter's hand and started walking away with him.
"Hey! You can't take him, he is my date!" Chris yelled, seeing that the man wasn't stopping Chris attempted punching him. The man let go of Peter and grabbed Chris' incoming punch only to throw a punch of his own. The man landed the hit and sneered at Chris. He grabbed Peter's hand and led him outside the diner.
"Are you ok-" the man started, He found Peter hugging him.
"Thank you so much! You saved my ass back there!" Peter said looking up to make eye contact with the man. Peter couldn't break the eye contact that they were sharing it seemed almost as if he was....falling in love. Eventually the man asked for his name. "My name is Peter, Peter Parker, and what's yours?"
"Wade, Wade Wilson," Wade said smiling.
"Well Wade, would you like to get coffee with me?" Peter said. Wade nodded at Peter.
"How could I refuse you?" Wade said cheerfully, the two walked to the closest coffee shop and ordered two coffees with milk and sugar.
The two talked all day losing track of time, the collected each other's phone numbers finding themselves texting each other too. Peter couldn't believe what was happening to him, he actually found his soulmate.
"I'm so happy Peter!" MJ said, "I can't wait to meet him!"
"Speak of the devil," Peter said, "here he comes now." Wade walked over to Peter and landed a kiss on his lips wrapping his arms around him. He sat next to Peter grabbing his hand and spoke to MJ, officially gaining her approval to date her best friend.
'Beat that mom and dad' thought Peter, he finally got his romance story and thought that his beat theirs by far.
