Peter sat down at his usual desk, laying his head down. He looked observing the move of every student, it became an instinct to watch. Peter had a special ability, he could see everyones red string of fate. Yes, this was a real thing, everyone was destined to be with another. They were tied to one another by the red string. This of course was invisible to all except the lucky few called seers. Peter was one of those few, but he did not enjoy this as everyone would think. Seers could cut the string ending the tie the two people had. He hated that this was possible, everyone who came out as a seer would be surrounded by many who sought to end their destiny to be with another. Peter had a hard time saying no to others, so if anyone ask him to sever the string, he would.

He looked around the room eyeing each string, some were tied to others in the room, but most were tied to somewhere outside the room like his own. He knew who his soulmate was, but he didn't care for what destiny had in store. At least he didn't want to ruin his soulmates plan. Tony Stark was who he was destined to be with, or he was suppose to be with. Tony was engaged to Pepper Potts, the one he had dated for years before proposing too. Peter knew he could never interfere with that wedding, Tony loved Pepper so much. He even contemplated cutting the string between them, but he could never to it. He felt his phone buzz in his pocket, he took it out and read the message. Hey, can you come over after school? from Mr. Stark. Peter replied saying he could, now all he had to do was wait out these dreadful classes. Once the school day had ended he grabbed his bag and got in the car with Happy.

"Mr. Stark asked me to go over." Peter said.

"Alright," Happy said. He drove Peter to the tower and dropped him off.

"Thanks Happy!" Peter said happily before walking up.

"No problem kid." Rushing, Peter walked into the lab where he usually found Mr. Stark.

"Hey kid," Tony said.

"Hey Mr. Stark! What do you need? Is there a new project to work on?" Tony looked at him with a not so excited look.

"Actually I have a serious thing I need to discuss," Peter gulped hoping he wasn't going to ask what he thought.

"W-what is that going to be?"

"Can you cut my-"

"No" Peter said interrupting Tony, Tony stood there shocked.

"What?" Tony questioned, "why?"

"I. . . I- I just can't." Peter sighed, he glanced at the string connecting the two. Tony felt embarrassed that he had to ask, it felt strange asking Peter for help. "Listen, I. . ." Peter wanted to tell him but he couldn't find the strength to do it.

"What's wrong? Is there something I should know?"

"Tony I-"

"Honey can you-" Pepper said cutting Peter off, he looked at her with frustration. "Sorry Peter I didn't mean to-"

"It's fine," Peter said pushing past her leaving the room.

"Peter!" Tony called out gaining no response. Peter ran to the closest bathroom and locked himself in. He couldn't believe how much of a child he was, crying in bathroom. He hated the string, yet he didn't want to cut it. Perhaps he really did love Tony and didn't want to lose the connection they shared. He could hear Tony and Pepper were trying to find him but he didn't care. He just wanted to leave and curl up in a ball. After making sure Tony and Pepper were far, he got out and left the building. He contemplated whether the string should be cut, he would forever love Tony, knowing they should be together, while he was with Pepper. He found himself walking back home, probably to get under his blanket to sleep. Upon arriving he unlocked his door and walked inside.
