Chapter 7: Grocery Store

The next morning came and I saw that my family left. I looked at my phone and saw a text from Nick. 

Nick: Hey baby girl. I had to go to a big work thing in Switzerland. Be back in a couple of days!

Me: Tell me all about it when you get back.

I got out of bed and got dressed. My hair went into a bun. I added a little bit of makeup. Grabbing my purse, keys, wallet and phone, I left the apartment. Joey and Chandler were leaving their apartment. "Hey!" They both said. I smiled and put my purse strap on my shoulder. "I am going shopping and then out for coffee or food." I said. Chandler was sleeping over to Monica's apartment anyway to have more sex. "I will go." Joey said. I smiled and waved off to Chandler. 

Joey and I left the building. We got into a taxi and had him take us to the grocery store near by. I paid the cab driver and we both got out of the car. We walked into the grocery store. I pushed the cart around and pushed it to the yogurt aisle. "Want to split some of the food and the cost?" Joey asked as I nodded. We both got some yogurts and separated them. 

"So you and Nick are getting pretty serious." Joey said.

"Yeah, I really like him." I said, grabbing a couple of boxes of cereal.

"I am sorry but did you say a name Nick?" A woman asked.

"Oh yeah I said Nick." I said.

"I am Mrs. Smith and this is Mr. Smith." Mrs. Smith said.

"This is Karlie." Mr. Smith said. 

"Oh hi I am Isabella Carter." I said with a smile.

"The Isabella Carter?" Karlie asked.

"That is her. I am Joey Tribianni, a friend of Isabella's." Joey said.

"Karlie is a great fan of you." Mrs. Smith said.

"Really?" I asked with a smile.

"So you know our son Nick?" Mr. Smith asked.

"Him and Isabella are kind of dating." Joey said.

"Oh you are the pretty girl that Nick met on the subway." Karlie said.

"That is me." I said.

"Would you like to go out to lunch with us?" Mrs. Smith asked.

"I would love it. Joey here is some cash and my shopping list. Just keep my stuff at your place until I get it." I said as he took it.

We walked out of the grocery store. I got into the back seat of the car with Karlie. 

"You singing at that wedding was beautiful." Mrs. Smith said.

"Can you sing at my quinceanera?" Karlie asked.

"Of course. Just give me a song and I am fine with it." I said.

"I have to text Nick and the girls about this!" Karlie said as I smiled.

We pulled onto the side of the road. We all got out and walked into the restaurant. They took us to a table with four chairs. The waitress came over and gave us the menus. 

"What would you all like to drink?" The waitress asked.

"I would love to have your strawberry margarita." Mrs. Smith said. 

"A beer." Mr. Smith said.

"Lemonade." Karlie said.

"Tea please." I said.

"So Mr. Smith and Mrs. Smith what do you guys do for a living?" I asked, looking at the menu.

"Call us Jordan and Sarah." Jordan said.

"She has so many manners." Sarah said. 

"See this is why Nick loves her." Karlie said as my eyes widen.

"What?" I asked.

"Karlie!" Sarah said.

"Sorry." She mumbled.

"Don't be sorry Karlie. To be completely honest I love him too." I said as Sarah smiled.

"So that who Latina voice thing." Jordan said.

"Do you not like it?" I asked.

"No it is amazing how you are the one who is the voice for the Latina woman around the world." Jordan said.

"Here are your drinks." The waitress said.

We all ordered our food. I took a sip of my tea and heard my phone go off. "I am so sorry but it is Lena." I said. I got up and walked over to a private spot. 

"Hello." I said.

"Hey Isabella." Lena said.

"Lena, I am kind of having lunch with Nick's family." I said. 

"That is fine this is quick. You have a interview with a very famous star on the news tomorrow." Lena said.

"That's great." I said.

"Have a good lunch Isabella." Lena said before hanging out.

I walked back out to the table. I sat down as soon as the food came. We all started to eat. Great conversations went on during the time. Joey texted me at the end of the lunch and said that Phoebe had her babies. "Thank you guys so much for the dinner." I said. They all gave me hugs before I rushed over to the hospital. I got into the hospital and walked to Phoebe's room.

"Hey sweetie." I said, kissing Phoebe's head. 

"We had all three babies." Phoebe said.

"It was amazing." Monica said.

"Well Isabella had lunch with Nick's family." Joey said.

"It went amazing." I said.

"Isnt Nick suppose to be back tomorrow?" Ross asked.

"Yeah but I have this big interview thing tomorrow on national news." I said.

"That is great!" Rachel said. 

"Yeah I cant wait." I said.

Meeting Nick's parents and sister was amazing. I am so glad that I bumped into them.
