Chapter twelve-Bowling boys

Word count-1189

My knee tapped in my car while I waited for Lindsay. I was nervous for no reason at all, maybe it's cause I had to act like I was dating Kayd, I don't really know. Lindsay opened the door, sat down and grabbed the AUX cord. "Well hello to you too."I said, beginning to drive away from her large house. "I'm sorry, I'm just nervous." She said. "Lindsay Bates is nervous?" I joked. "Shut up!" She said laughing. Lindsay didn't know about me and Kaydens game, it was her idea to tease him to get him back. "I can't believe by joking around, you ended up getting a boyfriend." Lindsay said, surprised. "You and me both." I replied.

We pulled up to the bowling alley, the blue words lit up the area we parked. A giant bowling ball attached to the sign. Lindsay and I walked in, spotting the boys in the furthest lane. We approached them, I couldn't stop myself from smiling when I saw Kayden. He wore a light blue baseball style shirt and dark jeans, his grey snapback on backwards. Our eyes met, making time slow. Lindsay smirked, "You two are too cuteeeeee!" She said dragging the "e". I shook my head. "Hey princess." Kayden said, kissing my cheek. "What the-" I thought to myself. "He's really into this game."

"Baby, Lindsay, this is Jacob." He said, gesturing to his friend. "Hey." Lindsay said smiling. I waved. "What's with all the nicknames?" I asked Kayden quietly. "Gotta make it believable." He shrugged. We got our shoes and began bowling, of course Kayden won, Jacob in second, me in third, then Linds. "You did good! Almost caught up to us." Jacob said to Lindsay. "Their pretty cute together." I said to Kayden, he nodded. Lindsay pulled me away from the boys and to the bathroom. "O-M-G! He's sweet and hot and nice and and-" Lindsay began but I stopped her. "I'm glad." I smiled. "I'm going home with him." She stated. "Okay." I laughed, I figured if they hit it off she would. I walked out and talked to Kayden, I was going to drive him home cause him and Jacob and him drove in Jacobs car. "Let's get going." Kayden said putting his hand of the small of my back, guiding me out.

Instead of going home, we decided we'd drive around instead. It was ten-thirty already so we decided we'd get mcdonalds. "Can the bad boy eat this?" I said, implying his fitness and diet stuff. He laughed, "Yes," I smiled and ordered our food. We drove to the park to eat, arriving to the lush green park quickly. "It's an 11 o'clock picnic." I said walking to my favourite spot. It was by the sandstone built up rock near the ocean, the trees usually a deep green and the grass lush. We sat and ate, Kayden joking with me the home time. "I bet you can't take a massive bit out of that burger." Kayd said, noticing the small bites I'd been taking. I took a big bit and looked over at him, his eyebrows were raised, surprise evident on his face. "Oh." He said, I laughed. "I can take big bites." I said. He broke out into laughter, "Ew! Enough with the innuendos." I said hitting his shoulder. He continued to laugh, kissing my cheek, again. "Your too cute." He said. My mouth opened, "I win! I win!" I said standing up. "Wrong." He said grabbing my wrist, "Do I need to remind you how this works?" He asked. "It's all the time we act like were together, remember." He said. "Hmph." I said, sitting down defeated. He smiled, "Sorry, princess."

We finally got home around twelve thirty. Kayden walked me to my door, "Are your parents home yet?" He asked. I opened the door, calling for my parents. "Here!" They replied. "Yes they are." I smiled. He smirked, putting his large hands on my hips. "I'll make it quick then." He said. He leaned in, bringing his lips to mine. "But not today." He stopped. I shook my head, "Goodnight, goodbye, adios." I said going inside, locking the door and leaning against it. I sighed, "What even was that?" I walked up to my room, changing into my pajamas. My phone vibrated on the bedside table. "Hello?" I asked. "You didn't let me say goodnight." Kayden said through the phone. "Oh?" I replied. He laughed lightly, I walked over to the window, moving my curtains. There he was, standing there, in his grey sweatpants, his toned, tan chest exposed. He smiled then winked at me. "Goodnight, princess."

It must've been around three in the morning, the light from Kaydens room shone into mine. He sat at the end of his bed, holding his head. I left my warm blankets and opened my window. I crawled across the ladder, opening his window. "Hey." I smiled, climbing in. He looked up, "Hey." He said releasing a deep breath. "Why are you still up?" I asked. He shrugged. "Ever since he came, I don't sleep much." I looked down, feeling sorry and unsure of what to say. Instead I lifted his head from the ground and made him look at me. "Hugs?" I smiled, innocently. He let out a breathy laugh, getting up and wrapping his muscular arms around my small frame. My head reached just under his shoulder, I stood on my tip toes and brought my head into his neck. His grip tightened, my arms were wrapped around his torso and his arms rested on top of my back. We stood this way for a while, "Thanks, Dakota." He said, still holding me. "Anytime. What are fake girlfriends for?" I replied, making the both of us laugh. "Wait, didn't you sleep in my room? Like sleep sleep?" I questioned. He nodded, "I felt that way I could protect you." He said looking down. I though for a moment. At this time, he had already released me. I went over to his bed and moved the blankets, crawling under them like a little kid. He smiled. "What are you doing?" He asked. "You said you could sleep like this." I shrugged. He smiled and walked over to the bed. "Wait!" I stopped him putting my hands on his chest and moving onto my knees. He raised his eyebrows, and gestured his hand, implying I continue. "I need a sweater, I'm cold." I smiled. He laughed, throwing his head back. He went to his closet and threw me a dark grey hoodie. I put it on, it was rather large on me. "This is soft." I said, snuggling under the blankets, he nodded, turning off the light, then lifting the blanket. He laid on his back, I moved myself so my head rested on his chest. His arm protectively wrapped around my back, his hand on my hip. Since mentioned his lack of sleep, I noticed the dark circles that had began to form beneath his eyes. His thumb rubbed circles on my hip, "Go to sleep." He said, kissing the top of my head.

"Whats going on?"
