The next morning, wearing knee-long leggings and a long, cream-colored shirt that had a black picture of an owl on it, I joined Arden in walking up the school steps once again. I had considered telling my brother what had happened the day before, but for some reason, something held me back. I mean, if he didn't see me being magically picked up by an invisible man who happened to save my life, then maybe he was never even meant to know about the Silhouette.

Walking up the steps with a slight limp, I said, "See you at lunch."

Then we went our separate ways. When I made it to my locker, I saw Jamie waiting for me, leaning against the locker next to it. He wore the same hoodie, with the hood up so I could only see his face again. The guy caught sight of me and, to no surprise, started staring.

"Uh... hi," I greeted awkwardly as I opened my locker.

He held his silence, just gazing at me with those dark brown eyes.

"Can I... help you?"

"Where's the Silhouette?" he asked, never reverting his eyes from mine.

My face crumpled in confusion. "You don't think I know him, do you?"

"You were saved by him yesterday," his head tilted. "I don't think you know him; I just think you have suspicions."

I stared at Jamie with alarmed eyes - how on Earth did he know that the Silhouette had met me the day before?! Had he... been spying on me?

"Jamie!" a voice suddenly called. Macy jogged up, searching in the pocket of her satchel for something. "Just the person I wanted to see." The girl grabbed a notepad and pencil from the satchel and finally looked up, poising the writing device over the paper. "Can I get an interview with you for my blog? I still haven't been able to watch the news story about the Silhouette and his redheaded partner in fighting crime, and a new perspective would be an interesting twist to my next update."

"Hi... Macy," I said, slamming my locker shut.

She focused on me. "Oh! Hey, Willow. Sorry. Didn't see you there." She glanced back to Jamie, but then did a double-take and looked at me again. "Are you okay? You look... panicked."

I slowly shook my head, still staring at Jamie. "Don't mind me. Just keep... "interviewing.""

I walked past the two and wandered through the halls of Warm Oaks High until finally making it to homeroom. Going inside, I saw I was earlier than I had been the last two days and had a larger selection of seats. I walked towards the back and sat in one of the corner seats, waiting for the rest of the students to file in.

After that "conversation" with Jamie, it made me start thinking that maybe bringing Arden into this wouldn't be such a bad idea. Now I was beginning to understand why Warm Oaks High students called Jamie "Creep." Not only did he stare at you at school, but he also knew about your ongoing things in your personal life?

The thoughts made me shudder.

Macy sat next to me a moment or two later, still holding her notepad. Jamie was next to her, and I was surprised when he decided not to stare at me. Instead, his attention was captured by the Spanish girl before him. But his distraction got me thinking. Macy obviously believed in the Silhouette, and she knew so much about him already - or at least she wrote like it. What if I told her about what had happened yesterday? Perhaps she could shed some light on the subject - confirm that it really was the Silhouette. Besides that, she could possibly know how Jamie knew about the experience. It was worth a try. But, looking at the two people before me, I didn't see any openings in the conversation.

More people came into the room, and I spotted Moose enter with them. He was laughing with a group of guy friends as he sat near the front. I had calmed since last morning, and, frankly, after everything that had happened, my little "fight" with him seemed small and insignificant. I barely even cared that he was there.
