"We are exiting hyperspace, sir."

"Good. Bring us to the specified coordinates my master has provided. I must not keep him waiting."

"Very well, sir." the droid replied, following the elder man's orders.

A soft chirping filled the cockpit of the solar-sailor, alerting the pair to an incoming transmission. The old Sith motioned for the droid to accept it.

"We have exited hyperspace, my Master. We now approach the coordinates as you've commanded." The man reported without hesitation.

The cloaked figure portrayed in the hologram looked upon his student.

"Very good, Count. I await your arrival. We have much to discuss."

"Yes, my lord."

The small Geonosian ship continued making its way through the smog-ridden skies of the Republic capital. Only a few rays of morning light managed to pierce the cloudy atmosphere. Soon, the sailor arrived at a private residence on the edge of the central district.

Count Dooku exited his personal ship after ordering the droid to shut down the engine. They would be here for a while, and it made no sense to keep it running. As he approached the entrance to the building, a sense of dread made its home in the bottom of his stomach. He had carried out his mission to perfection, so why did he feel as though he'd failed his master?

A droid showed him to a dim chamber. There, he found the cloaked figure from earlier. He knelt, not wanting to irritate Sidious more than he already appeared to be.

"We have a problem, Count. One that could ruin our plans entirely."

Dooku frowned.

"My lord, I do not understand. I took care of Master Sifo Dyas, precisely as you instructed. His ship has been destroyed, and my forces recovered and disposed of his body. The Jedi will not be able to find either him or proof that we were the ones responsible for his murder."

Sidious shook his head, then turned to face his apprentice.

"Something has happened. Something that not even I could have accounted for. This anomaly is a threat, and it must eradicated."

"What is a threat, my lord?"

"It seems that Master Dyas managed to keep a secret from the galaxy for some time now. A secret that not even the Jedi were aware of. Upon his death, I sensed a disturbance in the force."

"A disturbance, my Lord?" Dooku questioned.

"Yes," The cloaked Sith responded. "A soul was crying out—Grieving. A child now misses it's father. Their signature is screaming in agony. Even now, I can sense it from half-way across the galaxy."

Dooku now knew from where the awful dread came. He knew of the child that Sidious spoke of. She was only a young girl, and the daughter of his late friend. When she discovered it was Dooku who had slayed her father, she would not doubt feel great betrayal.

The thought made him nauseous.

"This child is extremely powerful. Should they be allowed to continue living, they will eventually be trained to harness the Force. It would be disastrous for the Sith. The child must meet its downfall. See to it that this pest never has the chance to bother us."

A bitter feeling rose up in him. He'd already been forced to murder his old friend, and now that he was faced with slaughtering his only child as well? He felt conflicted. However, the Count also knew that refusing to follow through with his new orders would be a form of weakness. He was a Sith now, and the Sith showed no weakness.

He had no choice.

At least, that was what he told himself. What he had to tell himself.

You chose this path. It's too late to turn away from it.

"If you command it, it shall be done, my Master."

I'm back!

This year has been a wild ride so far, and I needed something to occupy my time now that I have so much to spare. I came across some of my old rough drafts, notes, and plans for this story and decided why not?

I'm going to edit a few minor things with the format before I upload any new content. It's pretty atrocious right now lmfao.

If you're still reading, thanks for sticking with me for so long. I don't deserve you guys hahah.
