A Stormy Night

The rain patters hard on my window,

but it can't drown out the sound of you,

telling me everythings okay,

the wind blows in the smell of wet grass from my open window,

but it cant make me forget your scent,

the thunder screams loud,

the lightening cracks like a whip,

but you,

you linger in my mind,

your body,

your flaws,

your everything,

from the freckles on your skin,

to the curl of your outter lips when you smile,

but when the power goes off,

I loose your image,

and I realize,

my feelings differ from yours,

Im the grass,

and you're the rain,

I enjoy your existance,

but you leave after a while,

call it a one night stand,

or call me a masochist,

but I love the pain you bring me,

when the storm is over,

and the sun comes out,

I will be here waiting for you,

to come and rain on me again.
