Chandler was given a room across from Katy's where she lived with her until Katy went off to college.
Katy kept her mother's diary in that attic space forever, along with her own diary that her mother gave her after her Spring Festival performance.

It just proves that love can survive just about anything life decides to throw at it, and often times more love is added to the circle in the process.
