The couple left Pop's after having their breakfast. Cindy threw on Sweet Pea's helmet as he revved the engine on his bike.
"Can I take you somewhere?" Sweet Pea asked the girl as she stood next to his bike.
"Where, exactly?" Cindy asked as she crossed her arms.
"It's kind of a surprise"
"How do I know that you're not going to kill me?" Cindy asked the raven-haired boy.
"I guess you'll just have to find out" he answered. Cindy shook her head as she placed herself on the motorcycle, her arms wrapping around Sweet Pea's body. The two were on the road, Cindy's brown hair flying in the wind. The Serpent entered what appeared to be some sort of woods until he found a slab of cement where he stopped the bike. Cindy took off the helmet as she looked up at the tall trees, and breathed in, taking in the fresh air.
"Come on" Sweet Pea directed as he made his way through the woods. Cindy followed, slightly terrified. The feeling slowly washed away as she noticed that the path the two were taking was pretty clear of any debris, an indication of people.
Slowly, a lake came to their vision, and finally, the two were at the bank of it.
"Wow," Cindy said as she looked at the miles worth of water.
"Yeah, its impressive" Sweet Pea said as he took a seat on a log, Cindy mirroring his actions.
"I come here for a lot of reasons. It's a good place to simply get away from everything going on."
Cindy raised an eyebrow at the boy. "I thought you weren't one to really have emotions."
Sweet Pea laughed at her comment. "Whether we like it or not, we've all got feeling."
Cindy played with her hands as she heard his comment. She didn't like to have any feeling that made her vulnerable. It was a trait from her mother, who always told her that usually, no one had good intentions.
The girl sighed as the too looked at the lake. Cindy felt at peace. She was starting to grow a liking for Sweet Pea, although any feelings of love were nonexistent to her. The girl was about to plop her head on his shoulder right when her phone rang, which disrupted the silence. It was FP.
"Hey Cindy, where are you? I looked for you at the trailer and you weren't there" FP said.
"Yeah, I'm actually out right now" Cindy replied.
"With who?" FP questioned, his voice a little harsh.
"Sweet Pea" the girl muttered, but loud enough for both him and her dad to hear.
"Can you come home right now? We've got to talk." FP said, his voice pretty monotone.
"Uh, sure," Cindy said as she got up from the log. FP hung up.
Cindy turned to look at Sweet Pea, who was already staring.
"My dad wants me to go home. Says he's got to talk to me" Cindy said as she walked inches away from the log, ready for Sweet Pea to lead them back.
"What if I don't want to?" he asked playfully.
"Well, Sweets, you'll have to face the Serpent King."
