"It's okay. The war is over. No one is going to hurt you." Despite his comforting words, Scouts-Many-Marshes still hesitated to leave. Forges-Many-Blades wanted to take Scouts to a home in the Falkreath Hold called Lakeview Manor. However, the mere thought of walking through a forest possibly swarming with Stormcloak soldiers terrified Scouts. He didn't want to go back. He couldn't. Never again.
"I can't-"
"It's okay," Forges-Many-Blades assured him. "I'll be with you." Despite the slight terror in his heart, Scouts complied and let Forges take him outside of the city. The Nightingale ordered a horse-drawn cart ride and climbed in the back of the wagon. He extended his hand out to Scouts, who accepted and let himself be gently pulled into the cart. The horse began to walk forwards towards it's next destination.

It had been two years since Forges and Scouts had moved out of Proudspire Manor to live in Lakeview. Scouts actually found the place to be even better than Proudspire. So much space, a calm atmosphere, and, just as the name suggests, a spectacular view of the lake side. Forges-Many-Blades had gone out of his way to renovate the entire manor. There were the essentials, like a cellar, a trophy room, bedrooms, and even a cellar for smithing and storing valuables. But there were also ones that were a little odd such as a greenhouse filled with insects and two beds behind a wall in the Master bedroom.
Forges had recently left for Riften to run an errand and left Scouts with his Redguard housecarl, Rayya. He also scattered weapons in cabinets and chests in case of an intruder. Forges-Many-Blades had been gone for a few days. Even with the Redguard patrolling the property and priceless treasures placed neatly around the house, the manor felt empty. For the first time since the civil war, Scouts felt lonely. The only thing keeping him company was a dog Forges had found near an old shack named Meeko.

At last, after almost an entire week, Forges-Many-Blades returned home with all sorts of treasures ready for storage. Scouts refused to let go of his arm for the rest of the night. "C'mon," Forges protested,"I wasn't gone for that long. It was just a week." "And? I was worried you wouldn't come home."
So clingy...
As the moon rose over Skyrim, Lakeview Manor grew quiet. Rayya and Scouts-Many-Marshes had both fallen asleep. Scouts shared a room with Forges, who was still awake, but sleepiness was creeping in. He reached under his bed and pulled his satchel out. Inside was the amulet, shiny and beautiful as it was. Forges smiled, put the satchel back down, and fell asleep.

Forges had left Lakeview yet again, this time without Scouts-Many-Marshes knowing. Jerk...
However, there was something else to hope for. Rayya mentioned that, Forges planned to send a package to Scouts soon, though the contents remained a mystery. It was scheduled to arrive in a few days to the manor. What could be inside? A rare gem? An ancient artifact? Only Forges knew.

The day of the delivery had arrived. The package was placed right on the doorstep. Scouts took the package inside and carefully examined it. It was placed in a small crate, which was very light. He gave the box a gentle shake and heard something sliding around. Curiosity got the best of him and he pried the lid of the box. Inside was a note:

I have never met anyone like you. You have a kind and gentle heart and a power like no other. Perhaps the Divines made it fate that we meet in the frost and let us rest in the warmth. I want to give you all that I have, all that I wish to own. I need you by my side. I vow to never leave you in danger, to protect you, to guide you through the dark. I wish to show you all the wonders of this vast and ever-changing land.
Be mine, now and forever.

Scouts-Many-Marshes felt his heart race. Was this a confession letter? He had never seen such beautiful language from Forges in his entire life. Scouts the realized there was something underneath the paper. He removed the letter and nearly dropped the box. A golden amulet adorned with blue jewels rested in the bottom of the package. An amulet of Mara...
Scouts felt tears streaming down his face. It wasn't a confession.
It was a proposal.
And as he held the amulet in his hands, crying on the floor, he knew what his response was:
Yes.
