Scouts felt his blood run cold. If looks could kill, Forges would have murdered him. "First of all," Forges began," I could have sworn I told you not to leave the house. Second, if you were just going to disobey me anyway, then why would you follow me out here?!"
"Because apparently disappearing and not coming back is perfectly normal for you," Scouts angrily retorted. "Though now I see that maybe it's best if you don't come back." Forges scoffed, took his hands off Scouts wrists and stood up. "Just be lucky I found you first," he sneered,"If it was anyone else, they would've killed you!"

"Might as well do your job, assassin," Scouts growled. "I'm standing right here."

"I'm not going to murder you, Scouts. Not even if someone asked me to."

Scouts felt frustration build up in his chest. He had married a killer and fed lie after lie, not knowing the Nightingale's true colors. A murderer and a snake, a scumbag...

Forges imhaled deeply before talking again. "The Dark Brotherhood is barely standing, Scouts," he explained. "I was given the opportunity and I took it. The Brotherhood isn't really a cult as it is a dysfunctional family. Rules had been thrown out, Sanctuaries in different areas had collapsed and they didn't really have a Listener to accept contracts."
"That's no excuse to kill people in cold blood." Forges realized that he wasn't going to get anywhere with his lover. Scouts's morality was higher than his own. He loved Scouts with all his heart, but if he ratted out the Brotherhood...
No. That wasn't going to happen. Not on my watch.

Forges felt his heart swell up. He just wanted to protect Scouts-Many-Marshes from the dangers of Skyrim, from the heinous deeds the Nightingale participated in. He felt himself tear up slightly and couldn't get his words out. "Forges-"
"Go home," He begged,"Please. Just... Go home. Don't say a word about this. Just go."
"B-but-"
"Leave."

Silence filled the woods for a minute. Scouts then turned around and slowly walked back home. He paused to look back at Forges. The Nightingale had his arms crossed over his chest, hands gripping his own arms tightly as he fought back his emotions. As Scouts walked away, Forges could have sworn he heard him whisper something very quietly.

"I love you."
