Kavya made her driver drop her off at the office. Swara remained very solemn and reflective throughout the drive back: Kavya may after all not be the exquisite doll, or big star, or the lady with the perfect life that people see her to be. This woman, has her own past to deal with.

When she got back to the company in the afternoon, she wrote down her resignation letter for Sanskar: If Kavita is back, then it's time to quit.

"Personal Secretary, are you resigning? Does Sanskar already know, is he aware?"

The bald human resources manager, pushed down his glasses frame a little up his nose, as he suspiciously questioned Swara. Being in this business for as long as he could remember, this old man was very shrewd and cautious.

"Manager Seth, be rest assured that my resignation has the due approval from the boss himself, otherwise, how dare I on my own accord resign from the company? Moreover, the time of implementation is in three months' time." I simply want it to be recorded and filed that I have brought in my resignation letter, then I will be content. As soon as you go ahead to do that and sign against it, then I can follow the due procedures involved."

The Manager looked at the letter in his hands and thought to himself, "It seems that because of the return of Kavita, the boss intends to go ahead and dump Swara."

......

It was evening already, and Swara had to be present at her parent's house for the dinner. Having mixed feelings and not in the least looking forward to the dinner, she finally arrived at the house.

In the past three years, she only went home a handful of times. But that even ceased after her parents made it clear they didn't want her around the house anymore. Sometimes, she even wonders to herself if she was their real daughter. From childhood, her parents took in Kavita when her father and mother died. After coming to live with them, Swara and Kavita did everything together: they slept in the same room, ate together, and went to school together. Her parents did everything they could to make everyone see them as sisters.

Since then, Kavita had come to be her sister.

As soon as Swara stepped into the house, the old housekeeper, Tina with tears in her eyes came running towards her: "Swara is here. Mrs. Gadodia, Shona is back."

With both of them now in tears, Swara warmly embraced the old housekeeper. Three years had passed since the last time they saw each other, Swara will forever remain her little girl.

"Sis, are you off work?" I missed you so much." A shadow sprang over, Swara was forced to turn around, and there stood Kavita, who pulled her into a hug.

"Sis, come in and sit down, the cook prepared a lot of delicious dishes."

Swara was led by Kavita and virtually dragged into the dining hall, just as if this didn't use to be her home and Swara was the guest here. Getting a hold of herself and finally being free from Kavita's firm grip, Swara only half-heartedly walked into the dining room. To add to her discomfort, everyone was already seated at the table.

"Sanskar, you sit at the other side, my sister is in." Kavita said.

Hearing Sanskar's name, Swara trembled a little, her posture suddenly going stiff.

Her father cleared his throat to speak, his voice now the sound of a stranger to her: "Don't you know your way around anymore? If you have finally arrived, just find yourself a place to sit so this dinner can go on. Kavita's flight landed yesterday night, it was too late to see you then. She says she misses you and wants to see you, just sit down and let's eat. "

Swara glanced at the people at the table, her parents, Kavita, Sanskar ... And she, now the outsider.

Before her was a table full of delicacies, but all she wanted to eat right now was Kavita's soup, she misses it.

The Food seems tasteless in her mouth. Swara manages to stuff some grains of rice into her mouth with her chopsticks. Next to her, the excited voice of Kavita rings out: "Well! Cook Fali's food is still so delicious!"

"Dad, Mom, do you know that when I was in France, apart from the two of you, what I missed most was being able to get some good home-made Chinese food." Since the time they started living together, Kavita calls Swara's parents mom and dad.

Having said that, Kavita moved on to the side dishes to have a taste of it. "Since you missed home food so much, you should eat some more, the cook made a whole lot of different varieties." their mother said.

"Who said I'm the only one who loves to eat, my sister loves to eat too."

Swara glanced at the table full of vegetables, and lowered her eyes.

"Sister, eat some of the spicy chicken wing, I remember, this is your favourite food."

A piece of red crisp spicy chicken, was placed before of Swara. She looked at the bowl in front of her and said ... "This is what you love, not what I like to eat."

"Swara, why won't you eat it? Kavita has been talking endlessly from yesterday about getting to see you, eat up quickly." her mother said.

"I have some discomfort in my stomach today ..." Swara replied.

Her father's face grew into a frown: "What stomach problem do you have? You have been able to eat anything that has been cooked in this house since you were young. If you had a stomach problem, wouldn't I, your father know? After being away for three years, Kavita finally returns home because she misses us and this is the kind of attitude you put up?"

Her mother joined in saying: "Well, Swara you do not have to destroy a perfectly good time together. It's just a piece of chicken, just eat it."

Swara bitterly glanced at her parents, trying to hide her unspeakable disappointment and sadness.

"Dad, you said you are my father right? And that you watched me grow from childhood and it is not possible that you wouldn't know if I have a stomach problem. Well, you know, I don't like spicy food in general."

"Mom, you also said I shouldn't spoil this time together and that it's just a piece of chicken right? Do you even know that I actually do not eat spicy food? Do you know what eating this spicy chicken can do to my already painful stomach?"

Swara settled to look at the bowl of spicy chicken, then slowly stretched out her chopsticks, and silently put it into the mouth.

Sanskar slightly frowned...

"Well, if you don't want to eat, then don't eat." Somehow, Sanskar couldn't help saying.

At the table, several pairs of eyes turned to look in his direction.

Swara's mother composed her facial expression and put on a polite smile: "Sweet Sanskar, do not pay much attention to her, Swara is just an ill-mannered girl. Don't get angry because of her."

Kavita smiled at Sanskar and said: "sweet Sanskar eat some vegetables, don't take notice of sister's behaviour."

Sanskar was a little surprised ... He just didn't want to see her being forced to eat what she didn't like. Why would they think he was concerned about her behaviour?
