The Baby Project

Class One

After all the couples had been put together, the professors took them in groups to the different sections of apartments that they would be living in together. They were set up in 5 apartments and then a community area and garden that connected them. That was what made up one unit, and there were 8 different units in the castle, in various places. 

Hermione walked alongside Draco as they were guided to where their unit would be. The other couples that would be with them were; Harry and Ginny, Blaise and Luna, Ron and Romilda, and Neville and Hannah.

Draco was glad that Blaise had somehow ended up in the mix with them because he immediately noticed that all of Hermione's friends were going to be around her all the time, and he might be in some trouble. Hopefully, Blaise would be able to reason with them more than he could. 

Once they arrived at their unit, they all walked in and found their own individual apartments. The common area was nice; it had a garden and a place that they could all grow different things. Neville was certainly happy about that. 

"Hermione?" Neville called her over. She walked over and stood by him. "Are you going to be alright in there alone with him?" He kept looking over her shoulder at Draco. 

"Neville, I can take care of myself; we have discussed this already. I am going to be fine. I am just in shock, is all." She gave him half a smile and walked back over past Draco and into her new living arrangements.  

The living room and kitchen was one big room with an island and a table in the middle separating the two. Hermione smiled when she saw a TV across from the couch and a huge bookshelf on either side. She noted to herself that there were already some books on the shelf. Ones she did not recognize. She was going to have to read those to learn more. She heard the door open and close but chose to keep looking around. She knew it was Malfoy. McGonagall said that only couples could enter their apartments unless let in by someone that lived there. 

Hermione continued to explore and found the bathroom and then the bedroom. She frowned when she realized there was only one, and when she went inside, she was horrified that there was only one bed. They were just paired up, and they were expected to sleep with one another. She was starting to rethink everything. She could not do this, maybe she could explain it to the council, and they would take it easy on her. She could use the fact that she was part of the Golden Trio to her advantage for once. 

"Granger?" She heard Malfoy's voice from in the kitchen and decided to leave the bedroom problem for later. She needed to calm down and think things through for now. 

"Yes?" She asked as she walked into where he was.

"This letter is addressed to both of us, and I thought you would want to be here when I opened it." He sounded nervous; Hermione could hear it in his voice. It was the same tone she noted from back at the Manor when his father asked if it was really Harry. 

"May I see it?" She held out her hand, and he looked down at the letter once more before handing it to her. She looked at the cover and dropped it. 

To the future Mr. and Mrs. Malfoy

She looked at Malfoy and then walked over and sat down on the couch. She listened as Draco picked the letter up and walked over next to her. He sat down, far enough away from her she noticed that she didn't feel uncomfortable. She immediately felt bad. He hadn't said one mean thing to her this entire time, and he was actually thoughtful almost. He just wanted to read the letter together, and she couldn't even look at the front without freaking out. 

"I dropped it when the owl first delivered it too." He said, looking over at her. 

She looked at him with tears in her eyes. "You are just saying that." She said quietly.
