The Next Move

Jade Thirlwall awoke to the sound of a buzz underneath her pillow from her phone.

It actually was not her pillow but Jesy's. She was in Jesy's bed sleeping here even though Jesy was not present. She just felt more comfortable where Jesy had been. More comfortable in Jesy's space, taking in her scent and her sensation. It was better for her. Her tormented mind was not so tormented when she could be close to Jesy in this way.

"Who's messaging me this late?" Jade asked sitting up to look through her phone. All of her notifications were either from social media sites such as twitter or from text chats. There were actually thousands of them.

Jade opened the text chats. Many of the messages were from people in their school who's numbers she had gotten. They were all asking about Leigh. "Eh?" Jade became worried. She opened her friend's group chat and scrolled through. The conversation was still in progress.

Prod: I didn't know she was possessed! Did y'all hear that?! Jade! Now I know why you have daymares. DAMN. Leigh like a real . . . holy f*cking shit!

Roc: Y'all I'm scared. Tae why you leave her?! Thas why she go all crazy on us!

Tae: I did not know! I did not know!

Pez: I'm crying! I feel so bad. Me name was mentioned.

Jin: All of our names were mentioned. My God. We need to tend to our friend. Where is she? The world online is going haywire. #SaveLeigh is trending number one everywhere. People will not stop talking about it. I have sent thousands of death threats already.

Chim: I feel tormented! My name was mentioned as well! AAAAAGH! I have been too kind.

Ray: Yeah me and Prince wanna come home. I called Jesy and she said that she's in town with Leigh. We're coming by. That was something like . . . damn. Just damn. I'm scarred.

Prince: Same here. I have never heard anything like that.

Tae: Why do you not attend the university?! Huh? If you had been there none of this would have happened! I am sorry!

Yoongi: Do not point fingers. You are not good at it.

Me: What's going on?

Prod: Jade! Leigh crazy! She crazy she crazy!

Pez: Do NOT watch the video which has gone viral. You will die. Every time you see it. Ignore it.

Justin: I legit wet myself while watching. I had to pray afterwards. Is she possessed? I heard someone say that.

Prod: Yeah me too. Everybody saying that. I woke my folks up with my screaming and they banned me from hanging with her.

Me: Oh no.

Prod: Oh don't worry. I'll still hang with her :)

The conversation kept going on but Jade felt compelled to search through her twitter feed. She saw the hashtag Jin was talking about all over her time line even without searching the trend. There were videos and one nearly made her click it. It said; When she talked about Jade my Leighade heart sung but I nearly pissed myself at the same time.

She saw dozens of different tweets. People were going wild. There were news report videos and what psychologists had to say and a whole lot of people cursing Leigh's parents. It was insane. "It seems it all started around seven p.m. It's two a.m now. Damn."

Jesy flew in through the window at that moment with Leigh in arms. "Hey Jadey." She said setting Leigh to lie next to Jade. She looked tired but began to pace in front of the bed as soon as she was free of the load of Leigh's body on her. "Shit. Have you seen what's been going on online?" She asked Jade. She had seen it herself while she and Leigh had been driving from the airport to this location. That was while Leigh had been asleep. She would never watch what people were saying about the girl in Leigh's presence.
