Crackle, crackle . . . "Ms. Nelson there are people outside to see you."
Jesy moaned in response to the sound that came from the speaker across her room. She was lying on her side with Leigh's arms around her. Jin was wrapped at her back. They were all on the floor.
Maybe if I ignore it it'll stop-
"Ms. Nelson should I send them away? I do not think that it would be wise to let them in . . . plus the sight of them is upsetting." The guard who usually spoke through the speaker sounded slightly irritated.
Jesy's interest piqued. She removed Leigh's arms from around her body and gently removed Jin's. She made them hold each other without waking them.
"How cute. If I were Leigh I'd snap a pic of this and post it." Jesy smiled at them for a while then walked to the speaker in her wall. Before she got there she kissed Jade's sleeping form on the forehead.
"Who are they Bob?" She asked into the sound system.
The man groaned. "For the last time, my name is not Bob or Rick or John or any of the other names you call me. It's Edward." He sighed. "The two people are Mr. and Mrs. Pinnock. You know? The two currently most hated people on earth? They say that they'd like to see Leigh-Anne."
Jesy cringed audibly and visibly.
"I know right? I'm quite ready to send them away. As long as you give me the word I will."
Jesy considered that. "Should I?" They were the reason for Leigh's state at the moment and the state of the world. It would probably take years for people to get over what they saw of Leigh. The kid wouldn't get a break. One of her publicists had been saying that they should do a few interviews to calm people but she felt strongly that Leigh would not want to do that. This was a personal thing. Just like her diary. She and Jin had spent millions to bury it. None of them were going to talk about it. She had texted all her friends saying to ignore social media. If they acted as if it didn't happen it was more likely for it to disappear as if it really did not.
"Ms. Nelson?"
"Oh uh . . . hmmm . . ." You see I wanna be mad at them but I can sort of get where they're coming from right now. If I had just heard my daughter have a meltdown because of me online, wouldn't I want to see her? She was thoughtful for a whole three minutes. The Pinnocks weren't bad people. They were just in need of help. They were just as traumatized and disturbed as Leigh. A few of the things they did were justifiable. "I'm coming down. Tell them that." Damn I'm so mature that it's cringe worthy. Ew.

Mrs. Pinnock was pacing in front of the grand gate of Jesy Nelson's house.
"I need to see her sir. Urgently." She said to the guard in the booth outside the gate. She did not like the look he was giving her.
"What are you gonna do? Hit her again?" The guard asked with hardly any interest in his voice. It was a kind of cold judgment that could be easily detected.
The woman scrunched her face. Normally, she would have responded with something just as cold but she was not in the mood to start fights with people. Plus, she was pretty wrong in this case. She was the bad guy.
"Debbie dear you need to stop pacing so much. I'm sure when Jesy gets here that she'll allow us to see Leigh immediately. She understands us and why we do crazy things sometimes . . . although I actually didn't do anything this time." Mr. Pinnock rubbed his chin as he said the last part softly.
His wife looked up to him with sad eyes.
The husband felt his heart melt. "Come on. Don't do that." He walked away from where he was leaning on the car front towards his wife. He held her close to him. Even though she was a snarling beast most times, when she got sad (which was not often) she looked as fragile and vulnerable as an abandoned puppy. It got him every time.
