Apologies for the late update.

The sun shone brightly through my eyelids. I slowly opened them, enjoying the view of the clear skies. "What a wonderful day" I whispered to myself as I slowly sat up. My body was aching in pain from all the work and all the fun we had yesterday.
Looking around, toothless was nowhere to be found.
"Where could he be at this time of the day?"
The forest was quiet. The sound of leaves rustling and the wind blowing were the only sounds to be heard. The birds chirped, seemingly singing in the morning. A particular noise rang throughout. A familiar smell accompanied the sound.
"Oh no, a fire" As I realised the situation, I ran as fast as I could to the scene only to see half the town burned, no villagers to be found, no dragons either. All the livestock where missing as well.
I was in complete shock.

"A...am..am I dreaming?". I could not believe what I was seeing. What the hell happened? Where is everybody?
"Ah F*ck where could toothless be?Where could my friends and everyone be?" Because of worry I shouted and called for them.
"Toothless? TOOTHLESS? Where are you bud? Its me hiccup. Guys? Astrid? Snotlout? Fishlegs? Twins?" I called out. No response from anyone. Only birds chirping ,the wind blowing and the trees rustling yet again.

As I was walking through the village, A buckler was laying on the ground. As I examine it, it seems to be from the village of Breiðr. This village are good neighbours to us. We would routinely do barters with them. Maybe some barters just got caught up in this mess? Still I couldn't rule out the possibility that they did this. They also were a village that adopted to the idea of peace and friendship with the dragons. What could possibly be the motive if it was them? God damnit, Why did I sleep in the middle of nowhere? Toothless must have reacted to his senses and ran to help, but why didn't he wake me up as he normally does when he senses danger? I was very confused. F*cking consequences of drinking, this happens. My friends, my family maybe in trouble, "but then" I thought to myself " they could've also fled to another island. Hopefully that was the case. My first job was to discover what in Valhalla happened here.

I made my way great hall first as when emergency situations happen, this is where they normally gather or hide the people. The place seemed to be fine. No burnt area nor destroyed parts. I opened the door which to my surprise was not barricaded. It seems as the hall was also looking neat. Nothing was out of place. Maybe they didn't put out a fight? Maybe dad surrendered because of possible casualties? But then why are there no bodies? No one would just surrender without casualties. Maybe properly buried before going away? Unless the enemy was formidable. It still didn't make sense. So far I can not think of anything that would result to this. No possible reason for aggression towards us. I now walked towards the dock to see the ships. No ship to be found. The aggressors could've taken them or they could've evacuated to safety. I didn't know what to feel,
Worry or calmness. All the dragons on the island disappeared as well. With nothing to use to travel the sky or the seas, I wanted to make a boat. No, I NEEDED to make one. Maybe a ship to make myself look menacing? I'll think about that later. As the sun caught up to me and it was already going down. I sat down on one of the great hall crept by silence throughout. "The Hall has never been this silent since that day" of course talking about the day I left. The silence that came after our heated exchange gave me the creeps ever since. I ate simply roasted yak and stole some liquor on the bar. "Sorry Fishlegs, I'm gonna return this later" I said apologetically.
I drank and drank to remove my worries and yet it didn't do anything. I was just dizzy and flashbacks of the day before kept popping up. I fell asleep on the table.

-The next day-
It was a new day. My eyelids slowly opened. I stared at the doors of the great hall. Thought for minutes on what to do if it gets to the point that they are traitors, but nothing came to mind. I didn't let the hangover get to me. I walked to the blacksmith shop. The place I used to work at as a kid. Fun times. I grabbed A hammer, nails, and a saw.

There were wood stocked up at the back. I took it and brought the materials near the docks. The wood were quite heavy so it took me a while to get half of them by myself. I started constructing the boat. I started making the hull of the boat. After about a whole morning of work I got it completed. Next was the stern and the bow. And mind you this was more of a small sail ship than a rowboat. Without noticing, the skies were dark grey. The smell of rain was here. It started to pour. I quickly ran towards my home. Maybe the Gods cried with sorrows. I sat down near a table in our living room. The paintings of me,my family, and my friends filled me with more misery. The loud screams of thunder further masked my sorrow. It halted my progression on building the boat. Hunger soon followed. I made my way to the kitchen to make food. Roasted yak and ale once more. I sat down and ate as the sound of thunder roared through the sky. Feeling full I was bored. There was nothing to do and worrying will get me nowhere. I looked at my family's old weapons when I noticed his favourite sword gone. He took it. Which only means the enemy may be somewhat fearsome.

As the roaring of thunder and the pouring of rain continued, I tried to piece everything together. The last thing I remembered was that we were celebrating. I went and slept at the forest because the view was nice. Nothing seemed to be odd before I went to sleep. Everyone was cheerful. Or were they? Looking back at the crowd when Fishlegs was giving his speech. There were some suspicious people. They could just be visitors from the other villages, and yet their gaze were menacing. Why didn't it strike me as odd at first? I was drunk that's why. Looking back I saw more. The two walked to the west of the village center...
"Astrid's house". My eyes widened as the sudden realisation came to me. My body moved on its own. I ran despite the rain's heavy pouring and the lighting that accompanied it.

The house was intact, untouched. My hands slowly creeping to the door knob. It was destroyed. Forcefully opened. The door creaked as it opened. The sound of thunder was the only thing that could be heard. The house was a mess. Tables flipped, books everywhere, sheets ripped, and worse, blood.
" Those MotherF*ckers!" I shouted as loud as I could.
Anger filled me to the brim. My fist met the cold wall of the house. It did not matter how painful it was. I was angry. I kept punching the wall repeatedly. My hands became bloody. My head was next to meet the wall. In my anger of not being able to protect the ones I treasure, the ones I love. The screams of the sky became louder. As if the gods was filled with hatred like I was. I simply could not forgive anyone who hurts my family, friends, and the one I love.

I walked outside to the rain still pouring. I looked up to the sky.
"I Will Get My Revenge. Hear Me Almighty Odin. Aid Me In My Quest For Justice" I shouted to the gods. Declaring my intent.

Cliche :)
