AN: yeah don't expect this to be good, just a heads up. I'm not confident that this will be much good, but here y'all go anyways I suppose. I would say nobody asked for that but I know that at least one person did (Yeet Mah dude, Yeet.)

Following Keith I guess again idk

Keith walked down the hall, heading to his own room. There was a lot to take in with the whole Shiro ordeal. God, he had been so weird lately. Yelling at people, Lance had ranted to Keith just about a million times about the whole 'I told you to stay out of this' rant that began to get old fast. And the what Shiro describes as 'head rushes', which don't seem like that at all. Keith's brother had been acting completely off the past few days. Combined with the blade of Marmora up his ass, Keith was being put under a lot of stress.

The silence of the blue glowing hallway was almost suffocating. The half galra hybrid walked past his quote on quote 'sworn enemy' however, the truth is him and Lance are decent friends. The silence was broken by a sob-ish noise could be heard from behind the large metal door.
It was surprising how thin the walls in the castle actually were. Sometimes Keith wished they were a little more... noise canceling. God, some of the things he's heard.

Curiosity and, well, empathy got the better of him and he stopped walking. Keith stood outside of Lances door, trying to bring himself to knock.
Another sob could be heard, then the sound of something falling and breaking. Not glass, no, more of a plasticity kind of object.
Keith knocked, taking a deep breath and saying 'well, here goes my plans for the night.' Not that he really had any.

"J-just a sec!" Lance called.
Keith heard footsteps and then the door opened with a quiet mechanical whirring.

Lance's cheeks were a darker shade than usual, and his eyes were bloodshot. Obviously he had been crying.
"Oh thank god. It's just you." McClain sighed, eyes looking Keith up and down. Then settling to look into the other male's Blue-gray eyes.
"And why are you so relieved about that?" Keith asked, dragging the words out a bit slower as he looked over the 'new' red paladin.
Lance shrugged, and walked back into his room. He sat down on the bed. "You can come in if you want." The boy called, allowing his torso to flop against the bluish blankets. His hands covered his eyes as he gave a hopeless sounding sigh.

Keith walked into the dark room, the door closing behind him. His heart beat just a bit faster.
"So, uh, you okay? You... you look like you've, uh, been, um, crying." The hybrid stuttered, a bit unsure how to help, and nervous.
Lance moved his arms and propped up onto his elbows. McClain gave Keith a glare.
"Yeah, just peachy." The red Paladin said, bitter.
Keith sighed, walked a bit closer. Stepping further away from the door and closer to Lance.

Something touched his foot, and skitter across the floor. Whatever that was must've been the thud he heard earlier.
Keith looked down, at a shattered electric clock that still had some red light illuminating from it. That, and the blue tinted lights by the floors, were the only lights in the room.
The boy continued, and sat down next to Lance on the bed.

Lance was laying against the bed again, legs easily touching the floor. Keith sat to his right.

Everything was quiet, except for the occasional sniffle from Lance.

Keith looked at the boy.
Lance had his arms covering his face, and was noticeably biting down on his lower lip. Every now and then his muscles contracted in a hiccup. The poor things breathing was shaky, almost nasally.

"Wanna talk about what's eating at you?" Keith asked, voice soft.
Lance shrugged. "Not-t really." His voice quivered And was just above a whisper.
Silence engulfed the room again. Nobody walking around in the halls, nobody in any rooms nearby, nothing. Just silence. This time however, it wasn't nearly as suffocating. It was almost enjoyable, if not for the upset vibe it gave.

"Do... do you think we'll ever get to go back home? Back to Earth?" Lance broke the silence, voice still shaky and small.
'Do I say what he needs, or what he's asking for?' The half galra thought.
"I don't know, Lance. It's tough to say. We may be out here for years. We- you- we can't just leave Voltron. The galra empire is getting better, yes, but that doesn't mean it'll stay like that. We don't know what Lotor has up his sleeve and-" Keith was cut off by lance smacking his leg.
"What was that for?!" Kogane asked, a bit annoyed.
"You idiot." Lance whimpered, obviously more upset.
Keith exhaled through his nose, then spoke again. "Why are you even more upset? You asked what I thought!"
"I wanted you- needed you to say something different!" Lance said, wiping his eyes with the back of his hand.
Keith silently cursed himself for making the wrong choice.
"Woah, hey, I didn't mean to make you cry. I'm.. I'm sorry, Lance. I should've known I should've said what you wanted to hear, and not what was true." The older male said, an accidental bite to his tone.
Lance sniffled and went to smack Keith in the leg again, but stopped himself. He just let his hand curl into a fist and fall onto the bed in between them.

Keith ran a hand through his hair, which had grown a bit since he was last at the castle.
"I'm making things worse, huh?" He asked Lance.
Lance nodded.
Kogane sighed and got up.
"I'll... I'll just go, I'm not necessarily a people person. I-I don't know how to help, I'm making things worse, I made you cry for God's sake!" Keith mumbled, speaking quickly as he tried to escape the awkward situation.
Lance shot into a sitting position and grabbed the others pale wrist.
"Don't go! Please." He practically pleaded.

To be continued...

AN: it was bad, then got better, then got worse, then went for a neutral, and then kinda lost it at the end again. Well, there's a cliffhanger for y'all. This is over a thousand words so I think it's long enough for this part. Part three of the written portion will be out soon, probably tonight actually since my brain is on that train of thought and I kinda don't wanna kill it off yet for the night. Plus it's only like 1:30am so I got a few hours to kill.
