I wake up from being shaken profusely, to hear Monse.

" Get up it's time for you to meet the family! " She said and I groaned and threw the covers over my head. " It's Sunday and I have to start school tomorrow. " I said whining.

" All the better reason to meet the fam so you won't be alone in school. " She said and pulled the covers off .

" Fine Monse, cause I know if I don't get up you'll nag and pester me. " I said before sitting up annoyed.

" I do not nag. " She said crossing her arms over her chest.

" Sure whatever you say Monse. " I said getting up with a tired smile. While she groaned and rolled her eyes.

" I'll be waiting for you outside, Cesar is here. " She said and I nodded as she walked out closing the door.

I sighed looking over at the picture before I got up and went and pulled out some clothes before I went and started to get ready, when I finished I came out to see Monse and Cesar awfully close as I cleared my throat.

" Hope I'm not ruining anything love birds. " I said while I starter going down the porch steps as they followed behind.

" Psh us love birds anything but that. " Monse said and I smirked and shook my head.

We walked as we got to a house as two guys and a girl sat on the porch as we walked up. I examined everyone around as they looked at me.

" Hey guys–Care to introduce your friend? " The short one said while I just glanced over at him.

" This is my cousin Alecia, she just moved to Freeridge and she's staying with me. " Monse said and they gave me kind smiles and waved.

I gave a slight wave to them as the girl got up and came over with a smile as she held out her hand.

" Hi, I'm Olivia nice to meet you. " She said with a smile and I just looked at her hand as Monse nudged me, I looked at her and she gave me a look before I rolled my eyes and shook the girl's hand.

" Nice to meet you too Olive. " I said in a not caring manner. " Um it's Olivia. " The short one said correcting me. " Oh I know what I said. " I said as we pulled our hands away.

" Um, Alright. " She said with a slight awkward smile before she sat back down as the black one came over.

" Um I'm Jamal. " He said as I shook his hand.

" Nice to meet you Jamal. " I said as he gave a light smile and sat down " I'm Ruby. " The short one said looking at me from the porch as I just nodded.

"Bitch." I heard Ruby whisper under his breath before I ran up on him grabbing him up by his shirt.

" Bitch who are you calling a bitch?! You want these fucking problems! Huh you short weak bitch! " I said pushing him back before Monse and Cesar grabbed me.

" Calm down! I'm sorry about this guys Alecia isn't really good with meeting new people: " Monse said to them while Cesar had me behind him.

Monse grabbed me pulling me to the side.

" What the hell Alecia you just meet them and you're already about to fight, what is that about?! " She whispered yelled.

" Did you just not hear that half of a person call me a bitch! I mean I could've reacted differently, but nobody calls me out my name like that and gets away with it. I'm already going through enough with my home situation and I don't need this shit. " I said annoyed.

" I'm not saying you have to apologize just try and control yourself alright? " She said and I nodded.

We walked back over as all eyes were on us.

" Um I apologize for my outburst, yes I did take very much offense to what was said and I could've handled it better but my first reaction to it was fight."

"Also I apologize with the way I acted towards meeting you I've been going through a lot before I've gotten here and it's still really getting to me.. If you could forgive me then that would be cool but if not that would be alright as well. " I said nonchalantly.

" No. " Ruby said out blatantly.

  " Yeah, I get it sometimes problems can get to us and life is too short to hold grudges." Olivia said with a smile.

" I–I mean of course forgive and forget right? " Ruby said with an awkward smile and I just smiled and rolled my eyes at him.

" Hey bitches the party has arrived Jasmin in the house!! " The girl said before she started to dance, making me give off a small smile.

Maybe Freeridge ain't as bad as everyone says.
