The next day at school felt strange. Everything felt a little bit off. Andreas seemed sketched out by something but he wouldn't tell me what and I was still shaken up about the whole Louis thing. That boy was so attractive, wow.
It was Friday now and little did I know that the upcoming weekend would change everything.
Andreas had plans with Micheal after school so, figuring I had nothing better to do, I set out to find Louis. I know it sounds crazy and a bit stalkerish but I couldn't get him off my mind. I just wanted to make sure he was alright and also see him again but that's besides the point.
I called my life long friend Samantha and, after much negotiating, she agreed to come find my man with me.
Samantha has an extremely unique personality. She has an 'I don't care' attitude about quite literally everything, but when it comes to people she's close to she loves them endlessly. Sam has been there for me in my best and worst moments and I don't think she knows how special she really is. She's basically my mom and she gladly admits it. She knows if I'm upset before I even know I'm upset and she always knows how to cheer me up. Even the greatest anticipator I know, the most aware person I've ever met, my best friend since birth, couldn't stop the tragedy I found myself caught in. She didn't know, I didn't know, Andreas didn't know, nobody knew. I'm jumping ahead again, though.
I picked up Samantha from her house and the hunt began. I headed over to the location I saw Louis getting beat up and, to neither mine or Samantha's surprise, he wasn't there. I drove all around the neighborhood, checking street corners, alleyways, hell even the library. I didn't know anything about this guy but sometimes a little bit of determination can go a long way.
Samantha was tired of my crap and eventually forced me to go home because "this was stupid" and "she could be sleeping right now" so I dropped her off at her house and that's when I saw him. He was lying on the grass, headphones engraved in his ears, nodding his head slightly along to the music flowing through his mind.
"Andreas!" I yelled, parking my car and running over to him. Of course he didn't hear me, he was too caught up in the sounds serenading his brain.
I finally got to him and kicked his foot, causing him to sit up quickly and look at me with wide eyes. He took out his headphones and glared at me.
"Dude where's Micheal aren't you guys supposed to be hanging out?" I asked him, plopping down next to him on the soft grass.
"We were hanging out then he got a call and he said he had to go and to wait here so I'm waiting here." He said, picking at the grass in front of him.
"Andy how long have you been here?" I asked, mentally beating Micheal up for doing this to my best friend.
"Oh, I don't know. A couple hours maybe?" He questioned, looking up at the sky to spot the suns location.
"Andreas! Come on I'm taking you home now, you live on the other side of town your parents are probably freaking out." I ranted, now mentally stabbing Micheal.
"No! He said to wait here so I'm waiting here. End of story. He'll be back, I know he will." He said sternly and I rolled my eyes.
"You do realize how much of a dick move this is right?" I asked in a neutral tone.
"He has work Nat! Work! W-o-r-k. You know the thing you do to get paid? Yes that. He needs to work in order to get money and he said to wait here and he'll be back so I'm waiting here until he gets back." He finished abruptly. I let out a huge sigh and laid back in the grass.
"That's not an excuse but okay whatever. I'm not leaving you here so I guess we're waiting here just in case he gets back." I mumbled out and closed my eyes, trying to fight off the anger I felt towards Micheal.
"No, not just in case he gets back. When. He. Gets. Back." Andreas said aggressively. I just stayed silent and let him have his little fit, laying next to him under the now setting sun.
We laid in a comfortable silence, awaiting Andy's super reliable knight in shining armor. Two hours later headlights pulled up to the park and Andreas sat up excitedly.
I stood up and Micheal frantically came over to us.
"Oh my gosh babe I'm so sorry, I got caught up in something, I can't believe you're still here I'm so sorry." He stuttered out and I, once again, rolled my eyes. Andreas accepted his apology with open arms and we walked back over to our cars.
I was infuriated. Andreas is such a good person and he did not deserve to be abandoned at a park. He did not deserve the false apologies Micheal was giving him. Andy was head over heels for this man who really just screwed him over in every way, and knowing men and their behaviors, Micheal will definitely pull stuff like this again.
Micheal never explained where he went, never told Andy what his job was. Andy was so blinded by love he didn't even bother to ask. Now that I look back, every part of me wishes I knew where Micheal was that day. I wish I knew what terrible acts he was participating in. I wish my thoughts of killing him weren't just mentally. But once again, wishing does not solve anything when it's too late.
