my first ever fanfic, probably terrible, i'm sorry XD
Shortly after yet another clap of thunder, I heard a soft knocking on my door. Slighty startled, I checked my phone again, and it was only 1am.
"Hello?" My voice cracked as I called out.
The door creaked open and a tall, skinny figure which I immediately recognised shuffled into the room. I reached over and switched on the bedside lamp.
He wore shorts and an oversized sweater, which was so long that it gave him paws. I saw that Hyungwon's eyes were red and puffy from crying, and out of instinct, I sat up straight in bed. Hyungwon's cheeks flushed red and I noticed him looking at my exposed chest, so I pulled up the covers to hide myself.
"S-sorry for disturbing you, I-I just wondered if I could stay h-here for a minute...I don't really like thunderstorms." He wiped his eyes and I smiled comfortingly at him. I nodded and shuffled over, allowing him space to sit next to me.
"It's ok. I don't like them either." I reassured him, giving him gentle pats on the back. "Do you want to sleep here?"
He nodded and laid down onto his back, staring at the ceiling. I wondered what he was thinking about.
His eyes eventually closed and I laid down beside him. The rain outside seemed to be easing off, and the thunder had almost completely stopped too. A small shaft of moonlight spilled into the room, and Hyungwon's features were illuminated, giving him an ethereal glow. He was too beautiful to handle.
Tentatively I put a hand around his waist. He was warm and soft, and I pressed my body closer to his.
"Hoseok?" My heart leapt in my chest as I realised that he was awake. To my dismay, he shuffled carefully away from me.
He opened his eyes and faced me. "I'm sorry, I really shouldn't be doing this."
I swallowed the lump in my throut. "It's okay. I understand." I whispered.
Hyungwon's POV
"It's okay. I understand."
He didn't understand. I couldn't ignore the way my heart had skipped a beat when I felt those strong arms around me, despite knowing that they weren't Minhyuk's. I had only ever seen Hoseok as a friend, and I intended on keeping it that way. But I knew deep down that something had changed, and I couldn't ignore it forever.
