Who is this person? Why are they helping me? Jake thought to himself. Even though he wasn't sure about trusting someone again, and having them leave him alone, his nose hurt. He needed something to clean up the blood. The person gently led Jake to a building, maybe a bathroom considering the echo of the door. "Sit here." The person said, softly. Guiding Jake slowly to sit on a concrete bench. He heard the odd sound of a paper towel being pulled from the weird bulky boxes on the wall, and a faucet being turned on low. "I'm going to clean your nose, okay?" The person placed their hand on Jake's shoulder and softly dabbed the wet paper towel under his nose. Jake did wonder what the person looked like while cleaning a strangers nose. Were they concerned? Were they smiling? Did they feel bad for him? "Does your nose hurt badly? Should i take you to a doctor and make sure it's not broken?" The person suggested, and kept his voice in a soft tone. "It only hurts when i sniff.." Jake felt embarrassed, a complete stranger is sitting somewhere in front of him, watching stray clear tears fall down his cheeks. See the odd movements of his blank blue eyes. Wash off snot infested blood from the under of his nose. They must feel so uncomfortable... Jake wants to apologize, but he doesn't know what he should apologize for. Sorry I'm blind. Sorry i stumble a bit when i walk. Sorry i awkwardly squeezed your arm as if you were going to try and break away. Sorry i don't know how to clean my own face. Sorry i cry about everything. He wanted to just say Sorry.
"I.....I'm sorry..." Jake trembled his words, he still cried even though it's been almost 10 minutes since he actually had a reason to. "Why are you sorry? You've done nothing wrong." The person calmly explained. Jake knew he had a weird expression on his face. No one has ever told him he didn't have to say sorry. "W....what do you mean? Should't i apologize for disrupting your day? Or being an inconvenience, for being so....blind..." Jake giggled, he likes making blind jokes. The person laughed too, but Jake didn't mind. He likes people who can laugh at blind jokes without being awkward. "No, you are fine. I am happy to help you...in fact...could i walk around with you? Make sure you stay safe of course, and also, i need a friend to talk to..." The person pity laughed at himself. Jake was stunned. Someone offered to walk with him, said he wanted to be friend him. He wasn't used to such generosity beside his parents..he was silent. The person went silent to. "Are you still there?" Jake questioned, he had to make sure. "Yes. I'm here." He said, not a trace of annoyance in his voice. "Is that okay? Can i hang with you?" Jake was excited, and it probably showed in his face. "Yes, yes of course." Jake got up, and felt around for the persons elbow. Instead, he got his hand. "I'm Andrew." Andrew put both of his hands around Jake's, and shook it. "I'm Jakson, Jake." Jake smiled, he knew that the dumb expression he was making made Andrew smile. Jake can feel energy shifts, and the energy shifted massively. "Okay, let's walk." Andrew placed Jake's hand on his elbow, and guided him out of the bathroom.
For what seemed to be 2 hours, they walked around the town, and talked. Jake didn't know who this person was, he sure has never heard is voice, but he felt safe. Jake told Andrew his story, Andrew told his own. They knew every piece of each others life, and have only recently met. Even though Jake was oblivious, Andrew couldn't help but stare at Jake's subtle expressions to each word Andrew said. Since he had no other distractions, he listened carefully to each word, and payed attention to the tone of his voice. Andrew had never met a blind person, but he knows now, maybe that's what he had always needed. Someone who can't exactly distract himself from Andrew's words. Jake knew now, he was right, he needed a friend. Andrew seemed interested in his stories. They might have looked like life long friends to the world, but they both knew, even though they had only known each other for a few hours. They knew they were stuck with each other for a long time. But neither of them had a problem with that.
