🇺🇾Uruguay Vs Portugal🇵🇹
Not only have Uruguay won all three of their matches so far but they have kept a clean sheet for the entire tournament. They are the only team remaining in the round of 16 that hasn’t conceded a single goal.
Their impressive 3-0 win over World Cup hosts Russia showed that they mean business. They smothered the Russian side and only allowed them three shots on goal to their 16.
Portugal are now facing an uphill battle after an uncharacteristically weak opening to the tournament. They have only managed one win so far. The opening group stage game highlighted their potent attack and their weak defence simultaneously.
This strong offence vanished for the following two group stage games, which saw them draw to Iran and beat Morocco by just one goal. Portugal will need to find that high scoring offence from the first game to be in with a chance of stopping Uruguay.
Edinson Cavani is Uruguay's hero, his brace enough to beat the European champions, despite Pepe's equaliser early in the second half.
That's both of Brazil's World Cup finalists out, European Champions out, and Ronaldo and Messi out. Could this be the World Cup of the underdog?
My Answer: any team can get their hands on that trophy and from all the games I am viewing the underdogs are possibly going to win......
