The salty air of the sea and the warm light wind, coming from the ocean, caressed the skin of the two boys, who were seated at a table, on the terrace of a nice and cosy restaurant who faced the perfectly blue sea of the Bahamas.
They had been in the Bahamas for a week now, and that journey had felt like a dream for the boys, a paradise atmosphere constantly present. They had been swimming and cuddling in the turquoise blue ocean, the water warm and so clear that you could see the bottom of the water. They also went scuba diving in the middle of dozens of tropical fishes, which had scared them a little so they held hands all the time under the water. They had been sunbathing, dancing (a lot), visiting, and so much more.
Now it was the last night before their return to London and they decided to ate in a restaurant barely outside the beach, with an ocean view, and the feelings in their hearts were a mix of nostalgia and softness. And love.
Thomas moved a hand through his hair, pushing a long strand to the side, but it came straight back in his face due to the wind. He turned his face and looked at his husband, who was already looking at him. He felt how Dylan soflty rubbed his thumb on the skin of his hand and glanced at their intertwined fingers, smiling at the sight of the two familiar golden rings.''I love you.'' he simply said, his heart squeezing of love and happiness.
Dylan smiled and lifted their hands to press a kiss on his husband's soft skin.''And I love you. I keep falling in love with you, a little bit more everyday.''
''Stop it, love, you're gonna make me cry.''
''I'm just telling the truth, my little bear.'' Dylan said with a smile. Thomas reached out his hand and cupped the cheek of his lover, who leaned into the hand, eyes closed for a second.
''Well I keep falling in love with you a bit more everyday too, my sweet angel.''
Dylan opened his eyes and kissed his lover's hand one more time before Thomas lowered his arm. The waiter came with their food and also lit up a candle, as the sun was slowly setting.
They ate their food and talked about everything, about the journey and what they had done, how the pictures were so pretty, about how lazy they were to rush tomorrow to get the plane.
When they were done eating, the sun was almost completely down and the landscape even more beautiful and magical, luckily the wind still warm. The skyline was a mix of beautiful and soft colors, as pink, red and yellow, all reflecting on the sea. They walked back to their hotel, just outside of the beach, only to leave their shoes and change into lighter clothes.
A few minutes later they were back on the beach. Not many people were left which allowed the atmosphere to be quiet and peaceful, magical. Thomas and Dylan walked side by side, hand in hand, their feet sometimes kicking the sand. Little waves coming from the ocean sometimes came and wet their legs, causing the boys to squeal.
Thomas looked at Dylan, looking so beautiful in the soft colors of the sun, his cute little moles spread on his face as stars on the night sky. How he loved his husband. His flower.''Do you remember what I told you when we got married?"
He noticed the soft smile curling up on Dylan's lips before he looked up at him, nodding in response, but Thomas continued anyway.
''I told you you were more than perfect. I told you, you were my sun, my moon and my stars, I told you you were everything I need and everything I want, for the rest of my life. I told you I loved you more than anything in the whole world, and I still do. I'm deeply, madly in love with you, flower, do you know that?"
The boys stopped walking and faced each other, hands in hands, just looking at each other. Dylan sighed and closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, his heart fluttered at the sight of his taller husband, looking at him fondly.
''I love you," he whispered in response, ''more than anything. I'll always love you."
Thomas leaned in and rested his forehead against his husband's, their noses brushing.
