Adulthood test is for dragons very important part of their both social and personal life. It is a set of tasks which are chosen individually from data taken from each young dragon's diary. This one is written by their parents from the day they were born and must contain every important part of their life and every choice they made. That is why being child of a dragon sucks, you simply wont keep a secret from your parents.
Young dragons must face their Adulthood test when they reach age of 20 and after successful completion of all tasks they are given name of their own according to the results of their tasks.
The test begins at midnight and here it was held in towns arena. I was of course in arena half hour before it started with a lot of food sitting, well more of laying, on four seats at once because there was no other way how to save space for the others when they finish.
This arena was the biggest and oldest in our kingdom. It had something over two hundred years. Now it maybe carried only remains of its former glory but you could still feel the thrills of great fights which were fought here.
Thousands of young dragons finished their Adulthood test here and thousands have repeated it due to failure or some other reason. Thousands of names were given here and the ground was itching for another doze of blood and sweat of dragons fighting for their place in life.
I said it nice, didn't I?
Tho I wasn't so exited about how glorious was the past. I don't care much about the past, I was really exited to see my friends putting on at this show. Because glory or no glory these fights are always a BIG show.
And of course I wanted to know the names Redy, Blue and Green will get so I could prepare the best name jokes I can before we will go drink ourselves under the table.
As always before the test, protection glass dome above the fighting ring was controlled, old or unfit shielding glass plates were changed for new ones, but these were all fine and so they were only being cleaned so we could see well.
After a few minutes personal left the area and the test might begin. Dragons were standing in the line shifting one dragon one dragoness.
I found Blue, Green and Redy right away.
Blue was the first. What can I say about Blue? He is of a dark blue color, he has green eyes. He is of a standard height but he was always a bit special. Not because of some special skills or some big personality issue. Reason why you would find Blue even among million dragons only by first sight was he has horns.
And I am not kidding. Really he has horns. More specifically two of them, growing from his forehead heading along the top of his head ending bit above his nape. They are black and have scaly like surface. He went through several tests because of it. It is known that Swergids have spikes on their tails but no dragon has horns.
Poor blue was considered weird from the first moment they unrolled him from blanket he was rolled in when they found him. Yes Blue is an orphan. One night he was found at the doorstep of Ranbor orphanage.
He caused a bit of a sensation. Nobody ever saw a dragon like him and his parents were nowhere to be found. They took care of him in the orphanage but he doesn't remember those days he was only a dragonet.
Finally after a year a family adopted him. He was raised by his step parents. Very good parents. Dragons like him. He loves them all very much. He has also a step sister but they got along quite well since they've met.
He was always quiet and good dragonet. Smart and honest, sometimes too much.
But other kids didn't like him. They feared him or made jokes out of him. In kindergarten he had unpleasant experience when children lured him on sweets to backyard and they started to bully him and put a bucket on his head. He couldn't put it down because of his horns and he cried.
