Chapter 25

Sophie POV

I woke up my body aching, my skin still burned, and my heart broken. I must find a way out. The elven world needs me and they need these rebels stopped. I tried to get up but my body was too sore so I just collapsed and hit the ground again. I heard footsteps and the clang of the cell door. I didn't have the energy to look at who it was much less why they were here. So, I just lay there until I felt a sharp pain in my back. I looked up to see a cloaked figure with a whip. She hit me again and again until I couldn't stand it anymore so I inflicted. She fell to the ground in a crumpled heap. Then a voice behind me said "It is time you pay for your actions". This sent a shiver down my spine. I tried to turn around but the person grabbed me by my hands and threw me to the ground. I tried to escape from their grasp but it only made their grip tighten. I was thrown to the ground knocking me unconscious. When I finally came to I heard two people talking off in distance. "Do we kill her or just torture?" one asked. "No, lets torture her first ask her, no demand her to join our side and if she refuses we will kill her," the second one said. Okay, I must escape tonight.

I thought of a couple of plans but none seem to be good enough. So, I decided that I should just wing it. I mean I have always gone with my instincts and it seems to work alright.

It was about 1:30 am and the usual mumbling and footsteps have ceased signaling that people were asleep. I flexed my arm and drew the lilac colored energy. I then guided it over to the lock on the cell and it fell to the floor. I quickly snuck out making sure to be quiet. I was almost to the exit when behind me I heard someone cough. "Don't think about taking another step," they said and I recognized the voice as Fintans. I can't stay here! Every time I wait to fight something bad happens. Not today! I ran out of the door. Not daring to look back to see how far away Fintan is or if he is even chasing me. I looked around and spotted some cliffs a few yards away. I immediately started running towards the cliffs. I wonder where I should go. Home? To the Concilers? Atlantis? Foxfire. I got closer to the cliffs so I pictured the luxurious school. Without hesitation, I jumped off the cliff falling into the void.

I flew out of the void in front of the gleaming school. I then ran up to the gymnasium because it was the closest. I ran in to see everyone's eye on me. I looked around and spotted two tall figures in black cloaks bearing the Neverseen eye.
