New Orleans, 2013
ONLY MOMENTS LATER, the girl was able to catch up to Klaus. She now stood in front of his current, more modern room. She steps forward to enter his room and sees something she didn't expect. Klaus shirtless, to the point he looked as if he was in some magazine shoot. At that moment, her attention had been on his toned chest, which also contained muscles he had certainly gained over the last millenia. She gulped hard and directed her gaze elswhere. "U-Uh, sorry. I should have knocked, uhh.." she led off, not knowing what to say.
"Enjoying the view?"
"Oh, shut up", she grumbles and then thinks about why he was getting dressed. He hadn't answered whether or not he was attending the dinner but his actions seemed to be a fair reply to it. "So, you are going to the family dinner?"
"Unfortunately, yes. If I do not, Elijah would surely have my head--or, my heart"
"Ok, I'll be going then" she replies and turns to walk away but he suddenly speeds over to grab her wrist to stop her. He seems suprised at their contact, almost as if he expected something entirely different. "What?"
"Your leave is not necessary"
"It's your family dinner, though"
"I can assure you that you can be there and it seems like Elijah cannot see you for reasons I have yet to understand" he answers and she gulps at it. At this point, Klaus had been aggravated & annoyed by her but he was curious as well as entertained. Their banter was sarcastic and enjoyable but not holding all the cards infuriated him to a point.
"Klaus, that may not be a good idea"
"Please, it will go well, love"
The girl contemplated what could really go wrong. If he talked to her while she was there, he would seem crazy at most. She in truth would not do anything to cause trouble and it would not be the end of the world. She sighed and directed her gaze back to the hybrid. "Fine, but just don't talk to me at the dinner. You will seem crazy"
"Don't I already?"
AFTER A FEW MORE MOMENTS OF GETTING READY, the girl and Klaus went down to where the family dinner was being held. The dinner was being held in the center of the compound and Elijah was already down there, making sure everything was in place. And, of course, he was wearing a signature suit of his.
"Niklaus, you actually came down" Elijah says with surprise but still in his ever so stoic tone.
"Of course, brother. You would lecture me if I did not, anyways" he replies as he sits down. he looks over all the food as well as the glasses of blood in front of them. The girl had noticed that there were only 4 chairs, an extra instead of only 3. Klaus noticed how she was just standing around and nodded in her direction, motioning that she should take the seat. She quietly sits in the chair, trying not to make it move at all. She succeeds at making it barely move and glances up to Elijah. He obviously does not see her like before and she sees how he moves with grace.
"Just like before" she mumbles, which was even low enough for Klaus to hear.
"So, where is Hayley? I assume you informed her of this dinner"
"I informed her of it hours ago, before I even told you. She should be here soon" he replies and Elijah then begins to pull out his chair to finally sit down but the two--well, three suddenly hear a sound. The sound of the compound's doors opening quickly. They whip their heads to whoever it is and the room becomes tense as soon as they do. It was Hayley....covered in blood. She appeared angry and definitely not up for some dinner. She stalks up to the center of the compound and notices the dinner table full of food. She scoffs as she looks at Elijah and Klaus. Then, the girl just gazes at Hayley. She had seen her before, but just not as angry.
"Hayley, might I ask why are you covered in blood?"
"I was...out. What's it to you two?"
"I told you of the dinner hours ago and you're arriving in blood"
"Oh, well, I didn't really care"
"So, who did you kill this time, little wolf?" Klaus questions her, using his nickname for her.
"Some witches, sort of blurry" she says as if she's void of emotion.
"Hayley--"
"Don't Hayley, me" she hisses out with venom as she glares at the two.
"She needs to calm down, Klaus" the girl suddenly whispers to the hybrid. He slowly turns his head in her direction to listen to her words. He sighs and stands up to be next to his brother.
"Hayley, as much as I find this interesting, you need to calm down and clean off. It's not a great look, love"
"Klaus, don't you dare start"
"Hayley, this is not good. Even Niklaus is right. Let's just--" he says as he tries to put a comforting hand on her shoulder but she snaps her hand forward to grasp his hand.
"Hayley..." Klaus leads off in a warning tone.
"You two can't judge me for this! We lost her! We lost the one thing we were protecting for so long! Those witches tried to kill her!"
"We aren't judging, but this is not acceptable beahviour Hayley. You cannot go murdering left and right"
"We know you cannot completely accept that sh—"
"I have accepted it! I'm just releasing my anger!" she says before snapping Elijah's hand, brekaing it for the moment. Her eyes then glow an auburn yellow while black veins creep under her eye lids. She growls and speeds off to another section of the compound while Elijah groans in pain. It slowly heals, but not completely yet.
"Bloody hell" Klaus mutters out, not thinking that would happen.
"Family dinners are overrated anways" the girl manages out, having seen the whole ordeal. She gets up from the seat and walks over to Elijah. She looks at his broken arm and quickly waves her hand. He stops groaning and breaths in & out in response. Klaus and Elijah look at one another in both surprise & annoyance. But, Klaus also looks past him to see the girl frowning.
|AUTHORS NOTE|
So, I like most of this chapter except for the beginning lol. I mean it kinda raises more questions bout "her". Any theories? If anyone really cares. Then, Hayley is still very much reeling from having Hope away from her. Anyways, hope y'all enjoyed & hope y'all are having a great day/night.
