SECONDS AFTER ELIJAH'S SUDDEN MOVE OF NECESSARY ACTION, HE CARRIED HIS BROTHER TO HIS ROOM. He laid him upon his soft bed, making sure he didn't harm him further. He only stared at him for a single moment before speeding off to the kitchen for some of Niklaus' famous liquor that he always drank from. He poured a glass' full and began to drink away. It would take a lot to make an original vampire drunk but he decided to test his limits this night. She stood in the center of the courtyard, still reeling from the night's chain of events. She had expected him to tear her to pieces and even more just for not revealing everything. It was in his true nature yet he hesitated, something she didn't even expect, not as of now. She clenched her fists and regained her normal breathing, compared to the shallow breaths she had taken before. She gulps and allows herself to compose herself.
She thinks that it could be worse and that it would only get better. That for once, their lives had at least an ounce of maybe becoming whole again. But, as always, she was wrong. She was one to have faith but it was usually misplaced or false faith. That kind of mindset was useless in the world they lived in. It was futile to think that.
He had taught her that.
She slowly walks over to the bar, sneakily getting a glass of vodka so that he wouldn't notice but she sloppily tried. She didn't care at this point and was hoping he blamed the random movement of vodka on the toxic alcohol in his system. She poured a tall glass' full and drank it dreadfully slowly, letting it burn her throat, reminding her of all the times she had worse. Her eyes fall to the drink, how its so clear yet so troubled. The vibrations of nature move it so naturally, like it's supposed to be good. Like it's supposed to be there. Yet, it can do so many harmful things, to everyone.
Elijah started to mutter many things in the open, not caring if anyone heard but she surely would. "If-If Niklaus is seeing some--"
But, instead, she tuned him out for a moment, only hearing his muddled words become almost non-existent. Her focus was elsewhere.
