Jwala POV

"My love where were you all these years? I waited soo long for you , you like to torture me so?" said the beautiful man in his deep voice looking at the young maiden with love.

"No my love, I love you too, irrevocably " said the shy maiden by looking at her man
Hearing this the man , leaned down to seal their love with a beautiful kiss

when....

"Owwwwwww!" I shrieked as I was again harshly woken by my mother .

"Maa humare Sapnon ke Rajkumar, hume apne bahon mein lene he wale the, ki aapne hume jaga diya!"

"The man of my dreams was about to kiss me ! this is always the time you wake me!" I said in exasperation

"Nirlaj!" My mom said as she hit me again

(Shameless)

"ahh mother, who behaves such , with their very own daughter! " I said glaring at my mother. She really hit me hard

"I do my dear" my mother said with a wink in my direction

"now get up , we have lots of work to do today , or have you forgotten?" My mother said walking out of my room, unapologetically after breaking my beautiful dream.

"Stop glaring at the door and get up, don't make me come in again" I heard my mothers voice, from outside, the woman knew everything

I got up from the bed drowsily , and made my way to the bath to freshen up .
I got ready in a light blue saree which my mother had made for me, and went outside, ready to start the same monotonous day

I saw my mother as usual Arranging wood to cook our meals.
She had grown soo old, but she still insisted to go out to fetch firewood, and cook our meals, fine, fine, ones when I had tried to cook our meal to help her, I had nearly burned our house to the ground, or soo my mother says, but I think she is just exaggerating, little bit here and there happens right? While cooking

I took the broom and started sweeping our little house helping my mother in our daily affairs. Where she would let me help me atleast.

"Jwala dear , will you please fetch water from the village well ." Her mother said, from the kitchen

And I quickly took the pots and went out, to fetch water, for our daily needs today, on the way I met my childhood friend, this was our routine, we would always go together to fetch water

"hey Jwala" Neela said linking her arms with me as we walked together towards the well

"Jwala do you know it is rumored that the Maharaj of Barhi may come to visit our village, I am soo excited, you know, who knows may be he will take a fancy towards me and make me his bride" Neela squealed in excitement.

Neela was beautiful no doubt , with her baby blue eyes and her long Brown hair , she was daughter of the richest merchant of the village as well. The only problem was she had lots of baseless rumors, and she loved to spin tales around them.

"He never visited our village Neela, he finds our village drab , with not a single brothel , and no bar " I said in a matter of fact voice, why would that man whore king come to our unexciting village, where the most exciting thing that ever happened was the fire festival, that too five years ago.

"shh!" whispered Neela"we girls should not know of such places! "

Seriously, I did not understand people , the men were allowed to visit such place , but women were not suppose to even talk about them? were we suppose to be blind, deaf and dumb?

Anyways there is no point in arguing with Neela, she was Ms. Prim and Proper always.

I kept quite while my dear friend rambled on about how she wished the King to notice her and take her as his wife, and how the King is soo handsome, that she would be the luckiest person on earth

Personally I hope he never visited their quaint little village , the stories she heard of how cruel the king was , how he tortured his subjects, how he was a devil incarnate , well with the name like Agni, one ought to be demon.

I think I got a little too immersed in my own thoughts, because, I felt Neela shaking me
"are you even listening to me Jwala?" Neela said little irked !

"ofcourse I am listening to you Neela, everyone listens to you" I added with a nod of my head for extra effect ! I did not want to offend my only friend, she can be a little bimbo sometimes, but overall she was nice. Atleast to me. But I know she can actually be very viscous when someone crosses her path, or she doesn't get what she wants.

Neela looked at me suspiciously for a second , but looking at my utmost sincere expression, she Rambled on, while my thoughts wandered on the possibility of arrival of the cruel King.

Hopefully the Maharaj , would consider their village too small and dirty , to grace it with his oh so Condescending presence
