My New 'Home'

I manged not to wonder off this time and when we got to the Hokage tower. I felt so short! Maybe comparing my current height to a building is a bad idea, but it still bothers me...

I was lead down a labyrinth of hallways and stairs, if this guy wasn't the one leading the way we'd be lucky to reach the Hokage's office by next spring. I'm not gonna lie I have a horrible sense of direction.

Yuma suddenly stopped walking making me crash into him causing me to fall on my backside. I hate being twelve, my sense of balance was horrible back then! He ignored me and knocled on the door. We hared a muffled "Who is it?" from the other side.

"Its me Kiiro Yuma, Hokage-sama. I brought the child that was found near the village entrance." There was a shuffling noise and the door opened to reveal an room with a few ANBU ninja. 'Did we interrupt a meeting?'

"You are all excused for now." An old man said. He sat at a desk placed in front of a lage window in the center of the room. 'So I'm in the first season... good to know. Wonder what episode I'm in?' I thought as Yuma closed the door behind us. "I hear you say your not from here? Miss (L/n)"

"No sir, um I just want to go home. I don't mean to sound rude but I don't care why I'm here. Sir, you have a great village from what little I've seen I just want to go home!" I was following Miss Shira's adbice by telling the truth! Granted maybe I said too much of the truth...

"I understand. I will have you stay with one of my trusted jonin, who will be incharge of you until further notice. Tomorrow morning I want you to report back here and I will have you enrolled in the academy. For now I want you to go with Kiiro."

"Why?" I blurted without thinking. 'Welp, if they don't think your rude mow then...'

"He is the one you will be staying with child." 'Oh, I wonder if he knew about this.' Turning to Yuma his face suggested he knew as much as I did about this arrangement. "You are both excused." We bowed and left.

"It looks like I'm your guardian now, kid." Yuma muttered more to himself than me. 'I just met this guy and now I'm going to live with him as my guardian? It could ne worse (Y/n).' I told myself, 'You could be stuck with a person that you don't know even the name of.'

We exited the building walk out into the cool night air and busy streets of Konah. I was so lost in thought that I didn't notice Yuma stop me.

"You okay, kid?" He asked sounding concerned.

"Hm? Oh, ah yeah just thinking why?"

"You nearly walked into three people and a pole." 'Well you'd be distracted too if you were in position!'

"Oh um thank you for stopping me then."

"No problem, You are my respncability now. I have to start lookong out for you." He smiled messing up my hair. "We have arrived at my apartment complex as well."

We walked up a flight of stairs and down a long hall until we reached a door numbered 159. The inside was quite small. There was a kitchenette, a small living room and hallway.

"This is it." Yuma said unlocking the door and moving to let me in. "Your room is down the hall, first door to your left. Bathroom is the third door to your right and my room is next to yours if you need anything." He pointed down the hall. "You must ne starving so I'll make you something to eat if you want."

"Thanks, Mister Kiiro. I think I'll just head to my room. After the day I've had I think it would be best to get some sleep." I bowed, I was trying to seem polite. I turned to walk to my new room when he started speaking again.

"You can just call me Yuma, kid there's no need to be formal. You should eat its not good for children to go to bed hungry."

"I will be fine, thanks anyway. Goodnight Yuma." I entered my room closing the door behind me.

"Night kid."

Laying in bed I just stared at the ceiling. I was wondering about my family, how are they? Have they noticed my absence? I closed my eyes trying to clear my head. 'Might as well sleep.' I took of my jacket, checking my pockets from habit. I smiled holding the small stuffed cat. 'At least I have something from home.' I thought while hugging it close to my chest. Looking in my other pocket I found my phone with my earphones still attached.

Typing in my password I unlocked the device. 'No new messages? Strange I'd thought they'd try and contact me.' I switched the phone off placing inder my pillow. I know they say it's bad for you but I wasn't about to let it be discovered in a world where phones don't even exist!

I curled up under the covers closing my eyes, ready for this strange dream to end. 'Tomorrow you will wake up on the floor with your perants worryingly looking at you.' I told myself over in my head, chanting it like a mantra until I fell into a dreamless sleep.

Yuma sighed to himself, he had to watch over a child he just met this afternoon. 'Orders are orders after all. I wonder what had her looking so lost on the way over here. Who knows maybe I will actually grow to enjoy this kid staying here.' A small smile mad it's way to his face as he made his way to his room. 'I guess I'll turn in too. I can learn more about my house guest tomorrow.'

Woohoo! This chapter is finally done! I apologize if the Third Hokage seemed out of character. I didn't know how to write him... Anyway I know I haven't gotten to any cannon stuff yet, I just don't wanna rush things. See ya!
