A Client, A Cat And A Creep

Welcome readers, to what is the beginning of the second last arc for this book!

After my day with Team Kurenai I had hoped to train a little more before the big Zabuza mission that currently loomed over my head. I should off stayed in bed.

First I woke up to my first thought being, 'Nope...', having to rush once I realized I had a mission and yes, it was the mission with that lady and her poor cat. I feel bad for that cat, but I don't think the building I'm staying in allows pets or if Yuma is allergic to any animals. Now I'm standing here being literally held in place by my collar, since my sensei has no faith in me not diving out of the window, while the Sunshine child argues with Iruka-sensei about mission ranks. Yes, once I realise what today was I tried to run every single chance I got, but that's besides the point.

"I think they will be able to handle a mission of a higher rank, Iruka." I snapped my head towards the Hokage with a pleading look, which he either ignored or didn't notice my silent plea.

"But Hokage-sama-"

"I trust Kakashi can take care of his team." Iruka-sensei couldn't really argue with the person leading a country, especially since this person is his boss.

"... Yes, sir." With a sigh Iruka-sensei turned towards us. "It has been decided that your team will be assigned to a B Rank mission."

Naruto was the first to cheer, while I tried to sink to the floor, but found that impossible with someone holding my collar. I still tried to hold onto hope that our client was not the bridge builder, but why would the world decide to give me a break now?

"Please send in the client." Iruka-sensei called before the door opened to reveal the one person I didn't really want to see right now... Okay one of the people I didn't want to see.

'Okay... Okay. Think (Y/n)... Think! There must be a mistake, but why would they play a trick on us? I doubt they'd bring a random old guy off the street just to scare me... At least I hope they wouldn't. I am so not prepared for this!'

"What's wrong with that brat?" Our client remarked pointing at me, who currently looked like I was having a panic attack.

"(Y/n)!" Kakashi-sensei snapped his fingers in front of my face, having let go of my collar. After about five minutes I zoned back into reality

"Hm? Oh, Kakashi-sensei! I um... I was just thinking about the crushing reality that we will never be able to taste a star without dying." Everyone turned to me with a look of confusion.

"I have to trust my life to this idiot?"

"We assure you they are a capable team." Iruka tried to sound confident, but ultimately just sounded doubtful.

"Even the short one?"

"What did you just say about me!?" Naruto lunged at our client and was stopped by our sensei.

"Naruto, I told you that you can't hurt the client." Well this is already off to a great start...

We were all soon dismissed to prepare for our mission. Naruto tried to get Sakura to go with him, while she was more focused on the emo to even notice him. I snuck away to go ask Mr. Akira what I need since Yuma would only be back later today and I was worried he wouldn't be back in time to help me with the preparations for my first mission outside the village.

I walk in the direction of the village gates. Mr. Akira had guard duty this week, which made finding him a lot easier for me. As I was walking I must have been so focused on my thoughts that I didn't notice I had walked into someone until my back met the floor.

"Are you okay, Miss?" I looked up to see a figure cloaked in black with their lower face covered by a half mask. He held out a hand for me to take.

"Sorry." Was all I could say as I took their out. He pulled me up and into a hug without warning. "Wh-"

"So your the brat from the other world, hm? Well your not as impressive as I would expect. So naive, so innocent. I wonder what that gree haired bastard is hiding from you?" He mutteres into my ear. "I can't wait for the moment your life breaks into tiny pieces before your eyes."  I pushed him away.

"Listen creep, I have no idea who you are or what you want but I do know that you don't know anything about me." He let go of me with a chuckle, tilted his head and seemed to smirk behind his stupid half mask.

"Oh? Are you so sure about that? Then how about I ask you this. How much do you really know about your family's past?"

"My family!? What do they have to do with anything! They aren't even from here!" He moved his finger to wher his mouth would be.

"Keep your voice down, unless you want to bring more attention to our little conversation'." I glanced around us as he spoke. "Ask Yuma about your family if your so sure."

"Why would Yuma know anything about my family?" He ignored me and dissappeared onto roof of a nearby building. Now I know what you may be thinking. Why didn't I chase after him? Well... I have not mastered the art of running from roof to roof without almost falling to my death and moving at the speed of a snail.

I shook my head and focused on my mission, deciding to ignore his words for now.  I soon found Mr. Akira and we started to pack for the mission after he congratulated me on getting my first mission where I got to leave the village.

Omce it came time to leave I was beyond terrified. I had been screaming internally since I left the apartment and began my walk to the village gates. I ran through all the possibilities I could think of while I walk. Then my thoughts turned to that masked man.

'Okay first a random cloaked guy with a mask hugs me then says my guardian knows more than he has told me... As much as I doubt him I still have a bad feeling in my gut.' I sighed as I reached my destination.

My team stood at the gate and Kakashi-sense was  speaking to a frantic looking Yuma. Once they noticed me his gaze fell to the ground.

"Listen (Y/n), before you leave we have something important to discuss..." My heart nearly dropped as I stated at him.

I Want to apologize if anyone is out of character.
