*Aiden's POV*

It was now Thursday night, and I was putting the finishing touches to Ella's present. I had made a plan with Sean so that Ella would meet me at the park tomorrow, before we went back to her house for her surprise party. That way I would be able to make up with her while Sean and Leila got the party ready. Leila had been surprisingly civil towards me after everything that had happened. She had said that although she doesn't like me she can see how upset Ella is, because she's not speaking to me. All I need to do was give her this present and beg for forgiveness. I'm hoping with all my heart that she would accept my apology. I don't think I could even live another day without her.

*Ella's POV*

I woke up on my birthday to Louis jumping on my bed.

"Happy Birthday El," he screamed giving me a massive bear hug.

"Thanks Lou," I replied giving him a big smile. He was just too cute for his own good!

"Come downstairs and get your presents!" he said excitedly, pulling me out my bed.

"I'll be down in a minute, just give me a second," I answered, getting up and looking in the mirror. I quickly ran a brush through my hair and stuck Sean's top that he gave me on top of my jammies. It was only half 6 so I had plenty of time to get ready for school afterwards.

I made my way downstairs, where my mum, dad and Louis were waiting.

"Open mine first please," Louis pleaded, holding out a small sized package.

"Okay bro," I said, accepting it and tearing off the wrapping paper. Inside there was a blue bracelet, with a flower pattern weaving round it. I slipped it onto my wrist sraight away.

"Thank you so much Louis," I said, pulling him in for another hug. He was the best brother in the world, and I wouldn't change him for anthing!

"Open ours now El," my Dad said giving me a small box. I opened it, and found a pair of keys.

"You never," I exclaimed looking up at them with a beaming smile.

"Yup, it's in the garage!"

"Thank you!" I squealed before running out of the house and through to the garage. My parents had got me a blue honda! It wasn't the most fancy car, but I was beyond happy. I couldn't wait to drive to school now! I went back inside and gave both my parents a hug.

"I better go and get ready for school now," I said before walking up the stairs. I could feel that this was going to be a great day!

I got back from school, feeling happy for the first time since Aiden and I had fallen out. Everyone had admired my car, and I had gotten a couple of small presents from my other friends. I had invited Leila and Sean round later though, and they said they were going to give me my presents then. I'm not one that's really bothered about getting gifts, as I was brought up being taught to enjoy life no matter how much or how little I had. I was looking forward to tonight, but the only thing was that Aiden wouldn't be there. I sighed, I'm only dreaming now. He's not made any sort of move to apologise yet, but I guess our days were in the past. And it some ways this was better. Having space was helping me to get over him a bit better. I was sitting just thinking about what I was going to wear when I got a text from Sean;

'Meet me at the park in 10 minutes babe x' it said. That was weird, but oh well. I quickly got myself ready and jumped into my car. Now that was nice. I made my way over to the the park, although Sean wasn't there yet so I just sat down on the bench and waited.

*Aiden's POV*

I saw Ella sit down on the bench. I was so nervous. So scared that she wouldn't hear me out and we'd never go back to what we used to be like. I took a deep breath and walked over.

"Ella," I started quietly. Her head whipped round at the sound of my voice.

"Where's Sean," she asked, avoiding my gaze, and looking around the park.

"Well he just texted you so I would have a chance to talk to you," I said. She shook her head and got up off the bench. She turned to go and walk away but I wasn't going to let her go that easily. I grabbed her arm and turned her back round to face me. She looked me in the eye and all I saw was sadness and tears, which she was trying to hold in.

"Please, just let me explain," I pleaded. We were still staring into each other eyes. She looked like she was searching mine for something. After a minute she nodded,

"You have 5 minutes," she said, before going back to sit on the bench with her arms crossed.

"That night, I didn't mean anything I said. I'm so sorry! I was, emm, going through a tough time and I just took out my anger on you. And I'm really sorry about Leila but there is more to that than you know, and I will  tell you one day. I really truly am sorry and I would get on my knees and beg for forgiveness if you wanted me to. Right now, I would. These past few weeks have been torture with you not talking to me. Will you find it in you're heart to forgive me?" I asked. I looked deep into her eyes and her resolve looked like it was wavering, like she wanted to forgive me but she couldn't. If that makes any sense?

"Before you decide, I'd like to give you you're birthday present," I said, placing the wrapped gift on her lap. She tore off the paper and took a look. I really hope she likes it, I spent so much time and effort on it. Although, she was worth every second.

*Ella's POV*

I unwrapped the paper to find a photo album. It had a picture of Aiden and I from when we were little on the front. We were both pulling funny faces at the camera, and I couldn't help but smile as I remembered the old times. As I flicked from page to page, so many memories came rushing back to me. There were photos from old birthdays, holidays, school plays, Halloween's and so many more. I must say my favourite was the most recent one. It was last year at Christmas and Aiden was wearing a Santa hat and I was wearing elf ears. We both just looked so happy!

"Do you really think our years of friendship should be thrown away over one stupid argument? I've said things I shouldn't have but now I'm trying to put it right. So what do you say?" he pleaded with me, bringing me back to the present. I sighed.

"Well I suppose I could forgive you, just this once. Since you put in so much effort making this," I said smiling. He was right. Our childhood memories were so much more important. Our friendship was so much more important.

"Are you sure you don't want me to get down on my knees and beg," he asked, making me laugh. And just like that everything was back to normal.

*Aiden's POV*

I'm so happy that she forgave me. I guess I'll just have to settle for being friends just now. It's much better than nothing. I saw her smiling at the photo album, and I hope it brought back all the good memories that came back to me. I'd just have to hope that I don't do anything else to muck up and one day, when I've built up enough courage, I will tell her how I feel. One day.
