child-woman.

You can't belittle me,
You can't put me down.

I'm a woman, don't you see?
I'm succeeding, silently, without a sound.

I'm pushing away dark thoughts,
And I'm embracing who I am.

My mind used to twist like knots,
Tough as a bull, soft as a lamb.

I feel myself stomping my foot down,
I feel myself smiling more.

Like the child I was, in putting my toys up,
And I'm handling life like a big chore.

Don't look my way for treating me bad,
I won't turn soft.

I'm not angry, nor am I mad,
I've just grown to make my heart hard.

I know what I deserve,
I've come a long way.

You can't own me, you can only earn,
From now on, I'm not a child, I do not play.
