Mike's POV
I knocked on Texas's front door a few times. She didn't open up. Of course she wouldn't open up!
"Texas!" I knocked repeatedly but she still didn't reply. I paced back and forth, running a hand through my messy hair. "Texas! It's Mike! Open up!"
Silence answered me and I sighed, walking away. Just at that moment, the door creaked opened and Texas's head peeped out. Her eyes were swollen and red, as if she had been crying a lot. She wore a thin dress that hugged her body. "What do you want, Mike?"
"I wanted to see you," I said, scratching my head.
"Well haven't you been seeing June behind my back?" she snapped.
"That's why I need to speak to you!" I cried and she bit her lip nervously, unsure if she could trust me again.
"Fine," she huffed, blowing a stray strand of her silky hair away from her face, "But be quick."
I followed her up to her room, her hips swaying from side to side as she climbed up the stairs. I entered the familiar bedroom and she sat down on her bed before patting the space beside hers.
"Spit it out," she ordered, crossing her hands over her chest. "What really happened, Mike?"
"What did Lizz tell you?" I asked, putting a hand around her waist. She slapped my hand away and narrowed her eyes at me.
"What else could happen at a party? I was told that you and June slept together," she said, trying to hold back her emotions. "You know, I'd prefer if you weren't such a jerk. If you like June, then you should stop dropping me hints but instead, you led me on! I actually believed you liked me!"
"It... It just happened," I said, touching her cheek which she pushed away.
"Don't touch me!" she hissed. "Don't lie to me, Mike! How can it 'just happen'? You don't just sleep with someone after a party unless you're drunk!" Tears formed in her eyes, threatening to spill over.
"But why are you upset?" I asked.
"Because I freaking like you, idiot!" she smacked my forehead. "And I'm not upset. I'm just tired!"
"You know what? Let's go for a walk," I suggested. "We could get some fresh air."
"We can't be out too long. My mom left her keys so I have to be back before she does," Texas mumbled, standing up and grabbing her hooded jacket and a pair of vans. She slipped on her jeans in front of me before ordering me to get out.
When she was out, she had on whatever she thought was trendy enough to be worn outside. We walked out of the house, the cold chilly wind blowing at our faces.
"Mike," she spoke, turning to look at me as we headed to Sloane Square Park, "I don't want to be alone."
I placed a hand around her shoulder and pulled her closer to my chest. She hugged me as we walked silently to the park. We crossed the gates and sat on a bench right underneath an apple tree.
"You're not alone, Texas," I squeezed her palm as she rested her head on my shoulder, watching the dogs catch Frisbees.
"I wanted to know that I could trust someone and I thought I could trust you," she whispered, "I thought you would tell me what happened. It hurts I found out from Lizz, you know."
"I'm sorry," I kissed her forehead. "I just wanted to break the news at the right time. You seem to have a lot on your mind these days and I didn't want to make you stressed."
"Tell me, Mike, do you love me or do you love me not?" she asked, plucking a wildflower from the grass and picking the silky white petals one by one. "I love you," she whispered, plucking the last petal out and turning to look at me. "I've fallen hard for you, Mike. I just want to know if you feel the same way."
"I don't like you anymore, Texas," I said, looking into those clear orbs. She looked away. I knew she was crying. I held her face in my hands and pressed my lips against hers, taking her by surprise. "I think I love you."
"Is this real?" she asked, looking at my lips.
"I say we realize our feelings for each other and I'll never leave you alone, Texas," I told her. "I love you."
"I love you too, Mike," she whispered against my lips as she pressed her lips on mine. I could tell she was smiling as she tried to deepen the kiss.
When she let go, she gasped for air, the smile still plastered on her face like a little girl who could go to the fair.
"I want to tell you something," she said. "I want to talk to you about my dad."
I gave her hand a little squeeze of reassurance and she nodded, telling me about her father.

Lizz's POV
"Stop shaking!" I whispered to myself, fidgeting with my fingers. I bit my lip, waiting anxiously for Lucas. I haven't been on a date in years and this experience was enough to make my heart do stunts.
Lucas:
I'm here :) Is that you by the table, shivering yourself silly?
Lucas and I have been texting each other for days before our date, today. Today was the first time I'd be seeing him and Lucas, being the gentleman that he is, let me pick the first place we were going to meet. Aroma Lilies was a Chinese Restaurant that served the best Chinese cuisines. Just sitting here was making my mouth water.
I looked up to see Lucas and placed my menu down so I could really check him out.
"Yup," I smiled back at him. "I'm at the table shivering myself silly."
He chuckled and took a seat opposite me. Lucas was wearing a black V-neck shirt that showed off his muscular body. He had gray jeans that made his long legs look longer and he had a perfect set of pearly whites. His dark hair was messy and it contrasted against his pale face.
In other words, Lucas had the same effect the food in this restaurant had on me. They made me drool.
"You must be Lucas," I said, trying to start a conversation.
"That's me," he nodded. "I'm sorry I was late. What would you like to drink?"
"Whatever you're drinking," I answered and he nodded, calling for the waiter. My cellphone buzzed and I reached into my pocket to grab it.
Luke:
Where are you?
Lizz:
Revision!
I didn't like lying to Luke but that was the only way for me to stay sane. The date was flawless and as we were heading home, Lucas wanted to drive me back.
"It's okay! My... My friend is picking me up!" I lied. Lucas couldn't send me back! Then Luke would know!
"Okay, see you!" Lucas waved, running off to his car.
I hailed a cab and headed home.
"Where have you been?" Luke asked when I got home.
"Revision," I told him quickly.
"Yeah," he snorted, "Revision in a fancy dress."
"The auditions for the school's play was conducted today," I said. "So what did you cook?"
"Nothing," he muttered and shrugged.
He sighed and walked out of the house, slamming the door in my face as he did so. He doesn't tell me where he's going and he's always walking out on me!
I decided to text Lucas since Luke wasn't here.
The next morning I woke up early and rolled over expecting to see Luke lying asleep beside me.
I climbed downstairs but he wasn't there either. I had to go to school anyway. If he wanted to walk out on me and not come home then I don't care!
The phone buzzed and I sighed, guessing it was Luke. But it wasn't.
Lucas
Good morning, sunshine :)
I bit my lip and smiled at my phone. Those three words and that cute little smile just made my day!
