~Gabriel's P.O.V~
It was thursday night and Dani and I were quietly eating dinner at the table. Her parents were away on some vacation and left Dani to fend for herself. Normally they don't pay any attention to me, unless they have to. When Dani first introduced me as their guest it was pretty damn awkward. They were all, "Why didn't you ask us?" And I was standing there, thinking, "I'm here, man! You're speaking of me as if I'm not." So basically, I prefer them being gone.
Dani waved her fork at me and said, "sog gou wagt goo gate doneone?"
I rolled my eyes and said, "Dani, why don't you swallow first? I didn't get a word you said." So she swallowed, and rephrased.
"So you want to date someone?" She asked, completely casual.
I dropped my fork and stared at her. "What?"
"So you want to date someone?" She repeated, tiredly.
"I didn't say that. Why would you think that?" I said, my voice frigid.
"Well, I'm just trying to figure out something that would make you happier, and that's something that I came up with?" She looked alarmed, afraid that I would get mad at her again.
My jaw relaxed. She was trying to help?
"Okay. So what were you asking? You want me to date someone?" I ask, kind of confused.
"Well, yes... I think you should date someone. I think it would be good for you, and make you happy. " She explained, her brow creasing.
"I don't know, Dani. I can't suddenly date a random person. I have to actually Like them, Dani. That's the way dating works, you like somebody, and then you ask them out." He explained, looking stressed out.
"So do you like anybody?" She asked, hope dancing in her eyes. Did she want to date me? Oh no. I didn't want to hurt her. I didn't want to tell her no. Because Dani was nothing more than a friend to me. Damn it, damn it, damn it. What would I say?
"Uhm... No?"
"Okay, well why don't you date Mia? She's crazy about you, Gabriel. It would be really nice to give her a chance." She said, hopefully.
Mia? .... I guess I could take her out on a couple of dates. She's cute, pretty and funny. Maybe I'll start to really like her.
"I guess so." I said doubtfully. I don't really think I'll fall for her though. I've only had one crush in my enitire life and that was in fourth grade. Pretty pathetic, huh?
"Thank you Gabriel! It would make Mia so happy! And me! And hopefully you! Thank you! " She said, her pretty violet eyes, sparkling. She jumped on top of me and almost knocked me off my chair, hugging me hard.
"Whatever." I mumbled, kind of shocked by her bear hug.
She got off of me, and went to go finish her burrito. "So tomorrow you'll ask her on the first date, okay? I'll buy you some flowers, and a card to write a love letter on, okay?" She was grinning from ear to ear, clearly really excited.
Flowers? Love letter?
"Dani! No flowers! No love letter!!" I yelled out, my eyes widening in horror. "I refuse to write a love letter." I crossed my arms and glared at her. "I will ask her out, I will date her, I will hold her hand, but I wil draw the line at love letters and flowers. Absolutely NO."
"But Gabriel that's what girls like! They like the lovey dovey, mushy love letters and the red and white roses, and all that. You gotta make her happy!" She said, clearly annoyed.
